Who cares about Glock’s forthcoming new modular backstrap?

I DON’T…

I wish they would focus on:

1) Creating a single stack handgun

2) Creating some type of rifle

I like my Glocks the way they are.

Hopefully when the new model gets released at the 2010 SHOT show everyone will want one so bad that the market gets flooded with cheap used Glocks. :P

On a side note, it would be absolutely hilarious if these new Glocks have a magazine disconnect and external safety on them.

  1. That’s the truth! Pretty useless addition.

Even after handling the gen4’s I still stick by my initial opinion. I’ll admit I do like the new texture though! But If I had one I run it without any add on backstraps.

  2. It may seem stupid to some, but I have tiny hands. A smaller backstap would make a glock significantly more comfortable.

Yea I can see that. I guess I was just underwhelmed by those changes. I figured it would be something more substantial given all the hype.

  3. I just need an addition added to the grip to increase distance to the trigger, any after market places to accomplish this?

You might want to ask on glocktalk. I’ve seen people do some really neat mods on there. The good thing about the gen4 models is that you can likely just buy a few extra backstraps and if you make a mistake with them trying to increase your grip length then its not a big deal because you can just throw that piece in the garbage.
