Rings From Fired Bullets

If I got my girlfriend one of these, she would likely want to punch me:

For this work, I collected spent bullets at a firing range and made jewelery out of them.

The rings that were created remove the bullet from its original function and they surprisingly turn into a bejeweled object and emphasize the beauty and aesthetics of the bullet when it is distanced from its surroundings

Every bullet retains memories and traces of the journey it underwent from the moment it was fired until it was picked up.

Interesting…

I have two concerns when it comes to this particular art/jewelery:

  1. Some of the corners look incredibly sharp.
  2. Am I the only one extremely conscious of lead poisoning?  At the very least I’d say those should have a clear coat on them for safety reasons.

  1. Those do look sharp and poisonous like you said! I suppose they were never meant to be worn though, just created for show. I don’t think they are anything particularly pleasant to look at though. I like his description:

    1. Oops; didn’t mean to send that partial entry. The rest was:

It makes me think there’s an “artist” out there somewhere scooping dog turds off the sidewalk to arrange in an artistic fashion who’s is saying something similar about his work! LMAO

      1. Ok. Maybe that was a little harsh. I just thought they’re pretty ugly, flattened pieces of copper and lead. Leave it to an artist to claim it’s a beautiful work of art!

Yea, I wonder if he is making lots of money off those, or if it is more of just a proof of concept for an art show.

  2. Just think of them as Darwin’s sieve.
