The Zombie Combat Manual

Only $9.99 on Amazon – HERE

According to the wired.com GeekDad review:

The Zombie Combat Manual succeeds because it doesn’t try to rehash everything there is to know about zombies, it concentrates on hand-to-hand combat survival techniques. There are just enough encounter sections to keep things moving and Ma’s sense of humor prevents the book from getting too dark, despite the often gruesome subject matter. (Source)

A friend bought me The Zombie Survival Guide as a b-day present, going to have to say it was one of my favorites gifts, even if some people despise that book, it is till a fun read or a good present to give someone if half of their movies are zombie related.

And on the book above, the only reason the crowbar is there is because of Half-Life. A crowbar would be impractical to use against zombies, its just common sense.

But, just added that book to my Wish List, looks like it would be a good partner to my other zombie books.

If you like a good zombie read, I suggest World War Z… also by Max Brooks of The Zombie Survival Guide.

Ill have to check out World War Z. That Max Brooks one is the quintessential zombie book!

I enjoyed World War Z enough to get it in the unabridged audiobook format too. The voice acting was pretty decent from what I could tell(I don’t have much experience with audiobooks).

I was suggested Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by a girl at Barnes & Noble the other day. Has anyone read it?

        1. Great concept, but it is still Pride and Prejudice, just with some zombie action mixed in. I made it about two chapters. Might take another swing at it when I’m having trouble falling asleep.

  3. I paged through the above book the first time I saw it, and the author only mentions guns in one little spot, where he claims that the thought that guns are good for zombies is a complete fallacy. “Ammunition is not infinite” and whatnot. True, if you’re not experienced, they may not be a good idea, but completely passing them over isn’t very good in my mind, plus zombies aren’t going to be the only enemy in the post-zombie apocalypse world. I passed on the book.

While he’s trying to fight off the crowd of zombies with his baseball bat, I’ll be comfortably picking them off at a distance and laughing. Max Brooks’s Zombie Survival Guide is still the best one out there. And he does bring up a good point about a crowbar… being a crowbar, it’s a pretty handy tool for prying things too, like doors.

True enough. Just because “gasoline isn’t infinite”, it doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t use a car for as far as it would go..

    2. The author who claims “ammunition is not infinite” obviously hasn’t seen the hoards at ARFCOM!

      1. Come to think of it, maybe I should push this book more to the masses, then when the end does come, all the stacks of ammo in the backs of stores will be untouched! Then ammo will be nearly infinite to me!
