SmartCarry vs. Thunderwear Deep Concealment Holster Review

Bryan from ITS Tactical wore each holster for 8 months; SmartCarry wins hands down.

I don’t know who came out with their deep concealment holster first (anyone know?), but if it was SmartCarry I say good for them! Serves Thunderwear right for releasing an inferior copy of their product.  That said, they both appear to have issued patents on their products, so who knows… maybe thunderwear was the first?

I just can’t wrap my mind around having a gun that close to my junk, and having to pull it out. By “it” I meant the gun, but having to take a pee with either one of those on would be a bit awkward I would assume as well.

  1. Well I sold the Thunderware products for a number of years in the mid 90’s on a very early (perhaps to early ;-) web business… The owner of the business would sue Anyone who made anything close to his design and/or concept. Years later I discovered that the WWII British Secret Service used exactly this design for deep concealment during the war… And, yes they

I am glad to see that others have finally broken the “patient” hold that Thunderware claimed!

Yea good to hear someone improved on their design! Thanks for the info TCD.

  2. I’ve worn a SmartCarry with a P7M13 for several years and think it works very well. The reviewer is correct that the band does ride-up in the back. But I think it’s one of the best solutions when you have to wear a tucked-in shirt. The reviewer didn’t mention this, but the holster uses waterproof material on the body-facing side; so you don’t have to worry about sweating on your handgun.

Good to hear about the waterproof inner facing fabric. Thanks Phil!

  3. Why do you refer to your penis and testicles as “junk”? Are your genitals made by Hi-Point?

second, did you try washing that SmartCarry in a machine? If you did, watch it fall apart. That’s one big difference between the two nobody seems to mention…
