The CGI looks pretty decent. I have never been much of a fan of the Resident Evil franchise though.

She is quoted in an MTV article ( HERE ) as saying in this new movie she has “a lot more guns” … that’s always good.

I’m interested to see this new Beretta that she claims has never been on camera.  Some how I doubt she is correct, seeing as all the guns listed at IMFDB page are nothing new.

The ubiquitous double Desert Eagles (Double Deagle) at 1:31 in the trailer:

  1. Wesker (at least that’s who it looks like) using akimbo Desert Eagles actually seems rather fitting for his character, all things considered. He is the absolute epitome, the very essence of the phrase ‘overly-flamboyant corporate asshat’, distilled in to its purest form.

    1. I’d be surprised if it wasn’t Wesker. He should’ve been a key player before now.

      1. I assumed it was meant to be him.

  2. I luvs me some gun pr0n …especially when its backed up with some Milla Jovavich hawTness. I always just gotta laugh at swords slicing though goons w/body armor on, though.

That’s what goons get for not spending the extra few hundred to get slash proof body armor! :P

      1. It’s not totally ridiculous for precisely that reason. Ballistic vests aren’t designed to defeat edged weapons (though kevlar would probably save you from a draw cut like that).

  3. I can’t wait to see this movie as a fan of the Resident Evil movies. However, one part of the trailer that made me laugh was the gun sounds toward the end.

At about 1:30 in the trailer, all those gun sounds are straight out of N64’s GoldenEye 007.

haha goldeneye… that brings back memories. Boy did I ever put some time in on that game.

Good find.. That’s surprising that gun has never been on camera. It’s not exactly BRAND new.

  4. It sometimes takes a while for people to cotton on. Plus I think a lot of movie armourers or even scriptwriters want a certain recognition factor, and the standard 92 is pretty iconic by this point whereas no-one outside the gun world knows the 90Two.

I’d imagine that most people wouldn’t recognize the 90Two being a different gun than the 92 unless they were laid down on the table side by side or talked about in the movie.

  5. notice the brass fires both ways unless they make left hand desert eagles or change the bolt :D

      haha yea that’s gold!

  6. Well, I doubt they’re CGing the casings, so they’re probably just bouncing off each other and then away to the side. Or the armourer has modified the extractors deliberately.

I hear some of those armorers can do some pretty fancy work!
