Dutch Woman Visits Shooting Gallery Every Year For 67 Years

At the age of 88 Ria van Dijk still makes her pilgrimage to the Shooting Gallery. She has been going every year since she was 16 (except from 1939 – 1945) presumably because of WWII. The Camera is triggered by her hitting a target.

Neat idea. It’s interesting to see how she aged, how the style of clothing changed, and how the photographs went from black and white to color.

  1. this explains it……

any time I get beaten, an and beaten badly in any shooting sport, it is by some diminutive elderly person who looks barely able to hold a pistol.

No shit, I lose to an old man wearing an eyepatch. Not “lost”, I mean every single damn time I go to the range and see him, I break out my mark 3 and get promptly smashed. If you are ever in el paso and see an old dude shooting a .22, do NOT accept any bets he makes, no matter how outrageous.

Amen to that… some of those old guys are awesome marksmen.
