Tom Selleck Talks Guns And The NRA On The Rosie O’Donnell Show

Old, but new to me and I figured some of you likely haven’t seen it too:

Ugh… what can I say about Rosie O’donnel that hasn’t already been said about steaming piles of crap.

Tom Selleck went on her show to plug a movie, and he had to put up with that bullshit.  If I were him, as soon as she started into the whole interruption game, I just would have got up disconnected my mic and went home.

As I was watching I was hoping at least someone would start clapping for Selleck… but that never happened.

I don’t know how people who are so afraid of the NRA and of guns ever manage to leave their house.

  1. I hate that woman….very little of anything she does brings any enjoyment to me….she played Betty Rubble for cripes sake…

I do love the way Magnum handles the ambush and speaks clearly, coherently and doesn’t get hung up on her constant sharp shooting of his points…

  2. I remember watching that when it happened. I was in high school at the time and got home and for some reason I put the show on and I remember thinking how bullshit it was that she ambushed him like that.

  3. Cool as a cucumber even while getting jabbed constantly in the side. It’s gotta be the mustache!

Also, I think the founding Fathers knew that technology would progress beyond muskets. I hate when people bring that up. Anit-Gunners always know what there talking about “Semi-automatic machine pistol, Tec-9 Assault Rifle, Full Auto Bolt action” Those are some of the terms I’ve heard on the news or by know it all Anti-Gunners…….

Get you facts straight and be open to a debate(not an argument).

  4. Ignorance in its purest form.
So much respect for Tom Selleck for keeping his cool.

  5. She was a top of her crest in those days. Big show, Million Mom March….she treated Tom as a has been.
Fast Forward to the Present….. where the heck is she?

  6. Wow. Never saw this. I agree with ghost….so much respect for Tom for keeping perfectly cool, amid all the shrieking-noises.

  7. I’ve never seen this one before, wow. The way she treated him was very unprofessional- she should not have been interrupting him and misquoting his words. I agree with ghost and jason. Major props to Tom Selleck for handling that so well.
(as an aside, tec-9 assault rifle? really?).
The whole 2nd amendment “muskets only” thing is a fair point, unless you consider all the other amendments that have been re-shaped as well. Free speech also covers the internet and a fair number of technologies that weren’t created at the time of the Founding Fathers, so it follows that the second amendment fairly covers modern firearm technology. The Constitution is a living document.

Actually I think the founding fathers were thinking about having muskets when the British came over. Because that was the gun that armies used at that time. If you carry it through to today, I’m sure the founding fathers would have considered the AK or AR the basic gun of the day. Of course I’d hope they wanted me to have an M14. :)

  9. Montana- thank you, thats exactly what i meant. personally, i hope they’d give everyone m14s!

  10. Got to love the M14 but what if instead of making it a box fed .308 they made it a box fed .50 BMG, after all the 50 is at heart a big 30-06 that would have been the founding fathers next step in redesigning the M1 platform. Think about it the .30 cal and .22 caliber projectile rifles of today are a lot smaller in comparison to the .50+ caliber muskets off the past the same guns our founding fathers had the ones liberals think are what the 2nd amendment was to protect.

ahh yes. the tec-9 assault rifle. i need one of those

    1. Why? They’ve got a tiny 8 round “clip”, with minimal “flash hider” technology, only two “bayonet lug mounts”, and can’t even fire “cop-killer bullets”… did you hear how it only shoots “5 rounds a second”, my “AK-15” shoots 52. Besides, “assault rifles” “autokill people”. You heard her.

  12. I always like when people say that it doesn’t apply to modern times. The amendment applies to all time.

It states that a militia is necessary, and the right of the PEOPLE will not be infringed. The reason it is worded this way is two fold. First, the people form the militia and protect their country. Second, the people own firearms to protect themselves from a militia. This keeps the people as the final power in a catastrophic breakdown of all order. A previously formed militia can be put down by the citizens when necessary. The government might have an army, but the people ARE an army.

Wow… One more for “I’ve never seen that!” (And for good reason! I can’t stand that lady… somebody get her a spoon!)

On another note… it’s really sad how ignorant she is. I wonder what her relationship with her father was like…?

If the 2nd, only applies to weapons at the time, does that also mean that the 1st only applies to publishing tools at the time? and if so does that mean that the Government can start censoring everything on TV, Radio, Internet, and anything printed on anything other then a lead letter press?
