Guns And Flux Capacitors

Good news.  It looks like guns are still going to be around in the future:

I wonder what Doc Brown was buying? My guess is he probably told them he wanted to purchase another Glock rifle and got laughed out of the store.

I think thats one of the guys who works in the office building next to mine. He just bought a Delorian, and his boss has a .44Mag trailer hitch. Maybe its him. I’ll check tomorrow. I shop there often. Mostly for cleaning supplies. The prices are a biiiiit to high on some of the ammo. I bought my 5.56 upper there. Not a bad deal, but like everything if I would have waited it would have been cheaper somewhere else. Their prices are the worst, but I think the last time I was there I saw the base price on an XD9 around $540. Thats about what I paid after DROS, tax, and HSC.

could you also ask him if the Delorian is up for sale :D hahaha..

  3. Shortly after I got my first real job out of college, I had plenty of spending money. A guy at the local supermarket I’d bumped into a few times was selling his Delorian for something under $2k. I could’ve bought it with pocket money, but I didn’t!

To this day I kick myself for not buying that thing. Stupid stupid stupid!

    1. Never get a deal like that again, but there’s still hope – it’s just more expensive:

So every time you see a Delorean, you relate it to back to the future? Laaaaame.
Trying to buy guns and fit them in there? Double lame lol.

Considering that movie is the only reason people still know / care about the Delorean, yes.

      1. To be fair, there was a DeLorean in the movie “The Wedding Singer” as well.

That said, yeah, pretty much Back to the Future is the only reason anyone knows about the DeLorean. Kind of like the AMC Pacer with Wayne’s World.

I guess that’s to be expected. I guess nobody cares about DMC’s history or the purpose of which it was designed, and all the controversy in between. Where you see a time traveling machine, i see a design who’s life got cut short by an alleged drug trafficking asshat.

It’s history is quite the interesting read. Involves everything from Irish famine to Big lots :D

What do you think of when you see a Delorean? Bankruptcy and drug trafficking?

Yes. And the possibilities that the DMC-12 had besides just being a piece of art. Cryin shame what our Regulations did to what was an otherwise sporty machine.

And… well yeah the Wedding singer lol.

If you want to hate me for liking a cruddy 90’s movie, hate me for liking Baby Geniuses xD

That’s ok… I liked Bio-Dome which is arguably worse than Baby Geniuses :P

Not many people know that the DeLorean DMC-12 was an amazingly bad car. Yes it looked pretty but the internals were terrible. Factory motor, for the U.S. car, was a 130hp Renault V-6 (10+ sec 1/4 mile). My bone stock Subaru Impreza would smoke a mint DeLorean — not to mention a 30 year old one with bad seals and gummed-up guts.

The DeLorean was a sales pitch to the British to stimulate the Northern Irish economy, John Z. had burnt his bridges with GM and wasn’t moving up the corporate ladder there. The cars that came here were so bad they have to be reworked at U.S. “Quality Assurance Centers” — an euphemism that translates to “Decrapification Centers.”

That motor was just choked out by our regulations at the time. Had it been left alone, it’d have been 170hp. If it was left alone, i’ve no doubt in my mind they’d have sold way more. Heck, we’d probably have seen a Supercharged or Turbo’d option at some point. If they left it alone i’d see them in rally races. Which would be awesome D:

And your stock Impreza would beat a stock mustang. By a mile if it’s a V6 one. It’s not that the Delorean sucked, it’s just that your Impreza is OP lol.

What? You mean to tell me that Glock is the only gun company not making an AR-15 clone? Or a 1911 model?
There is a company making conversion kits for the Glock into a rifle, check out http://www.mechtechsys.com
Barret/jackson auctions (on Speed channel), sometimes have Delorens for sale.
