Shotgun Loads Consisting Of Random Crap

Some guys were bored and wanted to test a few things out:

Empty .22LR shells, airsoft bbs, bb gun bbs, duct tape, coat hanger flechettes, flat washers, M&Ms LOL… you name it they wasted their valuable time trying it out.

Redneck science like this is always good for a few laughs.  I’ve heard of people shooting intruders with rock salt loads… but what a hilarious twist it would be to shoot an intruder with a 12GA M&M load.  I be doctors see the weirdest stuff…

The computer screws are my fav, because I have like bags upon bags of those things.

  2. Shooting intruders with salt rock ammo is well known here in France, however under French law, you might as well go to jail.
It is considered as “premeditary”, and not “self-defense”, because if you load this kind of cartridges, it must be because you intend to shoot somebody. You can actually go to jail for trying not to harm an intruder. Who said law is boring? *wise-ass grin* -*sigh*

I like this whole recent idea of using improvised shotgun loads made from various everyday objects. Especially the idea of making wax slugs. If you are in a scenario, such as a SHTF type deal, and all you have are target loads? Making wax slugs for self defense isn’t a bad idea. On another firearms blog there was a contributor called, I think, the “Nigerian Shotgunner” who was a man who lived in Nigeria who was able to own a PGO Mossberg 500, and due to a lack of gun related tools and accessories, he had to jury rig a lot of stuff. Like I remember him making a stock for his gun out of a steel walking stick, slug rounds using wrench sockets as casting dies, and getting a friend of his to bring back ghost rings sights for him on a trip to the states.

that guy sounds hardcore. not gonna lie, i’ve loaded some dumbshit into shotshells. small nails, crushed auto glass, splintered chicken bones, broken DVD shards, fireworks, thickened petroleum…

Some years ago rock salt loads where factory loaded in Spain, named commercially “cartuchos de sal”.

  5. A friend and I have been wanting to weaponize PBR bottle caps for years now. Neither of us has broken down and bought a 12ga press though…

  6. So, I guess I’ll be the heartless racist bastid and suggest a ‘Skittles’ load.

oh thank god someone else said it.

  7. I’d lol if some intruder got maimed by an M&M load, unless they managed to win a lawsuit against the homeowner. Then I’d be wishing he had used 00 buck instead.

Part 2, the slow-motion version, is also pretty good:

  9. I’ll stick with my default rule: never stand in front of anything coming out of a 12 gauge.

  10. Some of those were really effective!

Looks cool. Give me something to do this summer ;D

  12. Liked the slow-mo version better. The mini-bolo slug was kind of neat.

  13. i have used lees buckshot mold with good success. the way they work is with 3 cavities, but the shot is tied together like dna. in the past i cut the with pliers, but recently i just loaded five strings into a wad, and let her fly! patterned good at 20 yds!!!
