LOL At Mexico Telling Us To Review Our Gun Laws

Must have been a slow news day for Reuters:

Mexico’s president, who has repeatedly called on Washington to tighten gun controls to stop weapons flowing from the United States into the hands of Mexican drug cartels, said U.S. weapons policy needed a rethink after the killings.

“Because of the Aurora, Colorado tragedy, the American Congress must review its mistaken legislation on guns. It’s doing damage to us all,” Calderon said.

Calderon has also urged Washington to revive a ban on assault weapons in the United States that expired in 2004.

Full Story – HERE

I’m still trying to figure out why we would possibly give a shit about what Mexico or its president thinks of our laws.  Last time I checked that place was a separate country, and still the lawless, dirty, corrupt, ass crack of North America.  Also, how does a shooting in Colorado effect Mexico?

Thoughts?

  1. Nothing prevents Mexico from setting up border check stations and patrolling its own border to prevent guns, drugs, and money from entering and leaving their country. I’m sure that the border patrol would welcome the help.

I have never been stopped entering Mexico. After hearing how things are going down there i’ll probably never go back.

Seriously Calderon needs to grow a pair and take care of his own damn country, they’ve got more than enough problems without butting into ours.

What a joke. Mexican government is useless at best, full of corruption and completely powerless against the drug cartels that terrorize their citizens. The cartels buy American guns because it’s easy to get good quality guns for cheap- paying some dumbass to buy them at a gun store in Arizona is easier and cheaper than dealing with the international arms black market. If they weren’t getting guns from us, they’d import them from Africa or the Middle East. But don’t for a second think that a renewed AWB or even repeal of the Second Amendment itself would make the slightest dent in the arming of the Mexican drug cartels.

I’m with Mike on this one- I see no reason why anyone should give a shit what Calderon says about US gun policy. If he doesn’t want American guns in his country he is welcome to stop them at the border.

Thoughts? Pretty much what everybody here already said. Shut up Calderon!

  6. Mexico has very strict border control…on its southern border.

I invite Mr. Calderon to review what is in my unflushed toilet.

Calderon should stick to what he does best.. Sucking cartel d_cks.

  8. Hey Cal-doggy Dog. STFU and worry about your own country. And also, what was that conspiracy about US SELLING guns across the border? Hmm. Afghanistan ring a bell around 1980 or so? Yeah, the Stingers we sold those tirds ended up shooting down a lot of our helos.

Talk about pot calling the kettle black.

  10. Be nice to implement a militarized zone on his border to shoot his scumbag thieves from entering…then send him the bill. I don’t know why that clear and present threat to our national security is not taken seriously. I say hire a bunch of kids who are good at call of duty to remotely fly drones up and down the border and let them pop foreign invaders; pay them in hot pockets and arizona iced tea. As for him wanting our citizens disarmed like his last remaining handful of non-criminal population who are disarmed, he needs to be air-dropped into old Laredo on the street corner with a big target stapled to his head…unarmed of course.

    1. It’s not taken seriously because the current administration wants to give all the illegal immigrants amnesty, and who will they be most likely to vote for? The current el presidente.

      1. It’s our entire government, house, senate, white house past and current, Bushes, Clinton, and the current clown. it’s not “american” to be American and give a crap about our sovereignty…especially, as you put it, for votes. When the people (aka “minutemen”) got shown the door, that was probably the greatest effort citizens will make to effect change. We’re a failing state griping about a failed state south of us. If our economy tanks enough, then the flow of migrant workers will continue to wane..then the cartels will be the only ones freely coming and going along our border…which won’t result in warfare like it should, because they’re “people doing the work we won’t do” (or something like that), we’ll continue to lose our country to invaders.

  11. He is like most people with “problems”: He Ignores his and tries to tell others how to solve theirs.

As far as I’m concerned, Mexico is virtually a failed state. Not that they’ve EVER done a particularly good job of running their country… Of course, they’re too proud to admit this, instead they blame America to distract from their own failings.

Looks to me like they’re slowly turning into Somalia, with a central government unable to exert control over many parts of the country.

Mexico is not as bad off as most people think. It’s still pretty bad though. Really bad compared to many places. Interestingly some of the guns major crime rings use are military weapons. The crime rings get young men with no records to join the army, go though tell they get issued a weapon, then they go awol and sell the weapon.

    1. yeah and they hand those military weapons out like candy because daddy warbucks (aka USA) keeps sending Mexico thousands of them *every year*. Who needs to keep track when you’ve got an endless supply?

So, every day that the drug war goes on they get money and guns to fight it. Seems to me that they would be STUPID to ever let the war end!

We have got to start paying for results, with Mexico, with Pakistan, with the world. Show us some progress and then we’ll give you more money.

      1. dave w Avatar

A lot of the s american war on drug money never goes there it goes to blackwater for training and us made helicopters for patrolling etc. I jujst watched a show on natgeo to that effect.
Pakistan however is just an evil country that needs to be wiped out, they will just take your money and give it to the guys trying to blow you up.

  14. Maybe that’s why so many people are getting killed over drugs and guns in Mexico… it’s not illegal… or is it? Who knows, maybe the drug cartells just don’t give a crap about whether something is legal or NOT!!!

  15. He says things like this because it allows him to blame his country’s many problems on exterior forces, rather than the corrupt and ineffectual government that runs it.

  16. roflmao Mexico giving critique as to how a country should handle their shit. Meanwhile they have an outright war going on in their country with hundreds of thousands dead and more to come.
I wouldn’t even fucking book a trip that had a layover in their airports, let alone actually visit that viper pit.
