Designing James Bond’s Look

I like when I can sneak music or fashion into this blog:

Apparently an integral part of his look is also terrible trigger discipline in pictures. :P

Thoughts?  How many of your model your style after Bond? If so, which one?

P.S. – Skyfall comes out in theaters November 9th!

  1. I can’t claim to have “style”, but I did wear Preferred Stock for years. I believe Preferred Stock is shown as Bond’s cologne of choice starting with Thunderball(?). I know it is in License To Kill. PS must have been top-shelf stuff in the 70s. Now you can buy it at WalMart for like $10.

  2. Love the Bond movies, and of all the Bonds I prefer the new rough Daniel Craig rendition as it seems closer to the books, and more believable. I just don’t see MI6 sending a playboy like Rodger Moore or post Goldfinger Connery out to save the world.

That said, I really much care for the PPK or Walther P99, I dislike any piece of clothing that isn’t disposable in the event of a mishap, and I drink my Martinis made with gin, and find it VERY crude to shake them.

Big Bond fan. It took far too long to get Pierce Brosnan to the role. He was the best besides Connery, IMHO. Incidentally, the long barrel pistol Connery is holding in the famous posed shot at the beginning is a Walther, but a pellet pistol. There have been some Romanian military training pistols imported recently that are copies of this well made (and expensive) pellet pistol.

  4. Daniel Craig is hands down the best Bond. Daniel Craig is the best dressed Bond.

    1. +1 My thoughts exactly! Daniel Craig wins best dressed bond by far.

  5. I was a big Bond fan growing up. Films and books. Lazenby was overlooked. Sadly all of the actors are reportedly gun-control advocates.
Fleming consulted Geoffrey Boothroyd about firearms, then messed up his suggestions in translation to the books.
I still want a pre-War Walther PPK, but it’s not currently a priority. In .32, PULEEZ.

Roger Moore is the best Bond period.
Daniel Craig is now my favorite because he is no BS, no stupid gadgets Bond. He is I will shoot you in the face and have sex with your hot sister Bond. Much better than Brosnan. Brosnan had the looks, but the all the stupid stunts and gadgetry killed all the movies for me.
But Bond needs to start carrying Walther PPQ(though I love P99 as well) an awesome handgun. At least he is not carrying a glock. God I hate that gun.

  7. Trigger Discipline? Cmon now its a movie, there is no such thing lol…….. Been a huge Bond fan since i was a kid, we share the same first name. Someday they’ll have a bond girl as hot as the one in Goldfinger!

trigger discipline is irrelevant when you have a “liscense to kill”

  10. Bond already is a pretentious asshole with mommy issues. He can take his “world citizen” attitude to North Korea.

    +1 to Connery.

  11. I actually had a chance to fire a pre-1968 Walther PP DA/SA many, many years ago. The DA trigger was so smooth and I was so surprised that the first round was in the 8 ring. The second round hit the dirt about 25 feet in front of me.

But if I could find one now, at a somewhat reasonable price & condition, I’d probably buy it in a heartbeat.

  12. Always been a big Bond fan. Sean Connery has always been my favorite, then Brosnan, but the new guy has replaced Brosnan. Daniel Craig is a great Bond.

  13. I’m very happy with Craig’s Tom Ford suiting. It emphasizes the body very well with the flared lapels and trimmed waist, coupled with the slightly thinned out shoulders. Definitely a lot more flair than Brosnan’s Brioni suiting.
