SIRT Dry Fire Training Pistol

Fate Of Destinee takes a look:

Fate-Of-DestineeNormally I don’t post reviews, or in general things I can’t make fun of, but as you know I DO like ENDO Apparel appearances.  In this particular video she’s making the AR-15 Picatinny Rail t-shirt look its best.

I will comment that the SIRT does look like a good option for dry fire practice, but starting at $329 it doesn’t come cheap.  I just wish there were some interesting reactive targets on the market for laser guns like this (I know there are SOME… but I almost fell asleep even thinking about shooting that).  In my opinion the one major flaw in this system is that you want to know where your shots are going so you’re probably not focusing on the front site as much as you should be… ignoring the green laser flash completely.  How am I supposed to see where I hit when I’m dumping magazines mid-barrel-roll?  Get your shit together SIRT. :P

Is it just me, or would that be annoying that the trigger prepping red indicator laser is so low?  Maybe I’m misunderstanding the use of it though…

Thoughts?

  1. The main problem is that you’re not looking at the front sight, but at the target. Becomes a bad habit really fast (because the point of this training is habit forming).

    1. I never look at the sights. I use feinstein brand heat seaking, exploding, teflon tipped, target destroying, spray bullets of death. So much easier.

      1. Those are the best bullets in the world! Omg! I hear the backorder is like 60 years minimum!

Have you ever used a sirt?

You certainly dont look at the lazer, its visible without a target focus, which is the whole point.

  2. I think thats pretty cool. I’ve looked at hese before and with ammo as pricey as it is now, this is a great opportunity to get some practice in for a low cost.

I only wish they had a Springfield XD Compact model. You can always spot a glock fan-boy a mile away.

  3. I would never spend that kind of money on something like this…

  4. I will personally spend my $329 on ammo and get some real training.

  5. Is she cross eye dominant?

I wish my Sig had a self resetting trigger so I could practice more dry fire. As is I have to rack the slide and it annoys me. I could prep it since it’s a DAK, but that doesn’t help with reset.

    1. Looks like she is. I am also and not so much an issue with pistols but forces you to make some decisons when shooing long guns. Some rifles I shoot LH (allows me to keep both eyes open) and those with magnified optics I shoot RH.

I want to see her tits

    1. The rail on her shirt seems to be distorted? what could be under there? Guess I will never know because I will be in my Mom’s basement my whole life.

      keep it classy.

  7. I have the laserlyte target and trainer (both styles). The target is not as boring as you might think (in my experience). It does not show your shots right away. You take your shots then shoot the “display” circle and it will light up where you hit. This lets me practice keeping the sights lined up and taking multiple shots then see how I’m doing over a string of fire.

But, I do use a DAO so I can just keep pulling the trigger. I have used it with my SAO p238, but that’s not so bad either because I can just cock the hammer for the next shot.

Either way it’s excellent for draw-fire 1 practice (getting sights lined up, on target, for accurate first shot, follow ups are problematic because there’s no recoil anyway).

What I really like for variety is actually a lazer target that came with a bore sighter, about 4×6″, it’s reflective in a way that if the laser hits anywhere on the card it lights up like mad, very obvious. Easy to tape or pin wherever and practice fast shots to a target.

Yeah, it’s 300 bucks between target and laser trainer, but I can use it on near any of my guns, battery life is decent, and uses my actual carry gun (minus ammo). I like it.
