Emeryville CA Police Chief Ken James Is Certified Retarded

Certified Retarded == Gun Control Smart. When are we going to stop putting cameras and microphones infront of imbeciles:

Oh this is good… it starts at 1:37

One issue that always boggles my mind is the idea that a gun is a defensive weapon. That is a myth. A gun is not a defensive weapon. A gun is an offensive weapon, used to intimidate and used to show power. Police officers do not carry a gun as a defensive weapon, to defend themselves and their other officers. They carry a gun to be able to do their job in a safe and effective manner and face any oppositions we may come upon.  If it was a defensive measure why did we lose 55 officers nationwide last year to gun violence?  And unfortunately in just the two months of this year so far we have lost 2 officers to gun violence in the state of California alone.

My first question… does Ken James drink?  His face looks a bit red in the video, could be the CA sun though.  *sigh* California gonna California.  I’d hope statements as dumb as his are met with a letter of termination, but my guess is he got a pat on the back and a raise.  If I could say one thing to him it would be: Stay out of the way of law abiding citizens you Wilford Brimley looking motherf**ker, and focus on what matters. ;)

I also like the statistic of 1.5 guns per day his officers are encountering (1:03).  Like does one officer just encounter a slide or a frame?  Joking… joking… simmer down bros I know how division works.

MrColionNoir has a response, it’s an obvious one but he does a great job as usual.  I just really wish the funny videos from him were more frequent. :/

Then why is the department of defence called so? Doesn’t it use deadly weapons? Shouldn’t it be called department of kill?

I used to be called the department of war before the politically correct wienies got a hold of it.

I talk the same way when I’m drunk.
Key word – start a sentence to put a bit of context behind my first idea – stop – realize my sentence is wrong at some point (but I don’t remember which) – new sentence containing key word and full stop.
Start the process all over again until you’re done, don’t forget to leave at least one FULL second between each sentence, more if you can.

Chief James, of Emeryville CA Police Dept,

With all due respect, that so-called myth you speak of- guns being used defensively- is the most obscenely idiotic thing I have ever heard.

Obviously, my firearms missed the memo. First in Iraq, Then as protective services, lastly as a citizen in a bad situation. No single instance was an isolated event. Each category has multiple instances.

I am not quite sure what sort of utopia you live in, nor do I really want to be there. Frankly, a place where an obese, poorly-shaven and mentally-deficient individual such as yourself exists in a position of power and leadership over public safety frightens me.

I think you perhaps have forgotten who gives you your power, who you work for and who can take it away.

Sincerely,

Mr. Wolf

PS. When I see police officers with a similar mindset, it inspires me to be one, if only to give the people an LEO they deserve. You sir, have inspired me. Good day.

Well it has to be true with so many stars on his shoulders.

Besides, isn’t to old saying, “The best defense is a good offense”? Or is it the other way around…

I guess I am struggling to find much to say when my reaction to self important d-bags like this is a resounding, “MEH”.

I first saw this a couple days ago, and I thought then that I would shortly see a “clarification” or a walk-back of his comments. I have not, and I’m very surprised.

This speech falls into the category that you run into sometimes, where there is just so much DERP that you really have no idea where to start. It’s like talking to someone from a place where up is down, black is white, and the sun freezes you. There’s just no point of commonality to start the conversation.

From a real police officer under the command of an equally stupid chief,

THIS MAN DOES NOT SPEAK FOR US!!! HE IS ANOTHER POLITICAL HACK WHO HAS NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE STREETS. By saying this, he is saying that police officers are just executing people. When I draw my weapon it is to protect myself, my partner and the innocent people who cannot or will not defend themselves. PROTECT AND DEFEND NOT THREATEN AND INTIMIDATE.

Also, judging by that mustache, I’d say he is a firefighter, not a cop.

Sincerely,
An angry cop who hates administrators

It’s too bad. They are coming folks. They’re gonna attempt a Hail Mary one more time to try and take our guns. This is the best chance they’ve had to do so. The rope has always been around our necks. But I’m truly afraid that they are going to be able to tighten the noose this time. It’s really sad. America as we know it is changing.

It’s time to fight for our rights. Vote if you haven’t, join the NRA, write letters. Do something. If everyone participates, we can change minds. But I’m afraid that like my cereal or dandruff, there are a lot of flakes who just make you tube videos and not take enough action.

I don’t think anything can be said that will help a man that this stupid. No logical argument will help. At this point we need psychological help for this man.

The same attitude was expressed by Salt Lake City Police Chief Chris Burbank, “…But open-carry is different. For example, a law enforcement officer openly carries a weapon for its “intimidation factor. In law enforcement, that’s the message you send.” -http://www.examiner.com/article/salt-lake-city-police-chief-burbank-carries-gun-to-intimidate-fearful-public

And who does he want to intimidate? Us, the law obeying public.

Further reason why the police need to be limited to firearms with magazines limited at 7 rounds.

This is a man that is TOTALLY out of touch with reality!!! I spent 30 years as a Law Enforcement Officer and he does NOT speak for me!! I have personally seen many many times where a gun was used as a defensive weapon and saved lives!!! What an IDIOT!!!!

Let this asshole come to Jersey and he will change his tune real quick. Scumbags like him are the reason our politicans in the District of criminals in Washington piss on our Constitution. He owes his job to somebody and in order to keep it he has to be the puppet to the press.

“A gun is an offensive weapon, used to intimidate and used to show power.”

Yep, to show power, to place the idea in the mind of a potential cop killer “if I attack him, there is a good chance that I’m going to get shot.” In other words to discourage a potential attacker, in other words to pre-emptively fend off an attack, in other words it’s a DEFENSIVE MEASURE!.

The fact that an officer is visually prepared to fight off an attack is a preventive measure, like putting up barbed wire around an airport. If police guns were offensive, then the police would just shoot at cars to make them pull over. What a piece of work.

Folks, look…you have to remember one key thing during these trying times. When you are taking on a subject that makes no sense, supported by background info that makes no sense and living in a state that makes no sense…who are you going to get to back this up? …people that don’t make sense!

Keep Hollywood, athletes and others with an 80IQ and below, out of this. Remove anyone that currently has a boatload of money with a high tech security system on their house and armed body guards… Now, lets vote on this!!!

He officers guns are defensive weapons are they not in their holsters unless they need then to defend themselves or the people they are sworn to protect. This dope is one of those puppets who has never worked a radio car in a bad area and ran from any trouble that came his way .

with regard to the police chief MORON; cops are morons….

with regard to the .22 as the best home-defence weapon; more idiocy… that assumes, just one home-invader. home invasions are often done by two or three armed drop-outs with glocks. shoot them with a .22 and they’ll be shooting back. that’s not a smart way to defend your family.

“When we encounter that gun that’s a high stress… high, uh, intensity situatation for us…”

Being a police officer means being in high stress situations including ones with guns. If you can’t handle it, don’t be one. I doubt this fool has ever encountered a high stress gun situation himself. No law passed will ever remove high stress situations from the list of things police will encounter. Nvtsack…

Chief K. James

I just watched the YouTube video in which you said, ” Guns are NOT a defensive weapon they are in Fact an Offensive weapon. ” I find that you sir are idiotic in your mindset as LAW ABIDING citizens with guns have used them to defend themselves and their families against those wishing to harm them. If guns are not a defensive weapon what are the citizens to do when encountered with some one breaking into their residence after calling 911 while waiting for the patrol officer to respond ( the response times would vary as to the current call load and location of the officer being dispatched to the call ) I might agree with your statement if you had a POLICE OFFICER stationed on every block of your city to provide the protection those in your community are so much in need of due to the nonsense you spewed on the You Tube video, however since that is not realistic then maybe you should actually talk to the people in your city to find out where they stand on the issue of guns being defensive or offensive weapons. I honestly do NOT understand how you ever made it to the office of Chief of Police with your messed up views of guns. If I am correct we the people of the United States have the right to keep and bear arms don’t we? I hope all the Law Abiding residents of your town have guns so they can PROTECT themselves since you are obviously not qualified to do so.

Does not surprise met at all! Ken James is ineffective and absurd – adding to that he does not seem to follow ethical standards or the law when it is inconvenient for him. I know this, because one of his police detective, Kevin Goodman illegally took and keeping our labrador, Paddy, hidden from us, and Ken James is condoning this behavior and making excuses for him. The Emeryville Police Department is a waste of tax payers’ money – they really should merge with Oakland.
