Explosives 101 With Richard Ryan

Richard Ryan with a lot of interesting info in this:

WHAAAAAAAT?! SO TNT isn’t Dynamite?  Screw you AC/DC, you lied to me! :P

5:23 – This is important.  As Richard points out, binary explosives are legal in all states for PERSONAL use.  If you make any money from YouTube or are even not monetizing the video buy still have it in your lineup you’re breaking the law.  Sure that probably isn’t priority #1 over at ATF headquarters, but it’s always good for people to find these things out sooner than later.  If you find yourself in a supermax wearing a pink jumpsuit in 110 degree summer heat singing demeaning chants because the warden is riding your ward’s ass, don’t say Richard Ryan didn’t warn you.

Make sure to check out the Minecraft vid he was talking about in the above video.  I feel like such an old man when people talk about Minecraft because I’ve never played and when I look at it I just don’t “get” it.   Is it hipster like “The graphics are so shitty it’s cool?”… one of you young whippersnappers please bring me up to speed.

Richard-Ryan-Deagle-T-ShirtRichard is wearing the ENDO Apparel Deagle t-shirt, one of my favorites.  I attempted to troll Hermès with that shirt a few weeks ago with no luck.  That store is so expensive, the clerk with the perfectly manicured facial hair who was showing the Asian lady $1500 cashmere/silk scarves probably took one look and me and his brain went *NOT ASIAN AND HAS A STAINLESS STEEL WATCH = Peasant*.  I’ll show him!  I’m going to buy a horse some day then buy that horse all the Hermès equestrian accessories it can carry… then I will ride said horse into the store and let it shit in the fragrance department. Muahahahah checkmate.

Thoughts?

Minecraft seems to appeal strongly to very socially awkward people. If you actually play the game as it comes, without mods, it takes hours and hours and hours of digging holes in the ground to get anything worthwhile. It is totally not worth playing.

    1. And that is pure opinion.

What it is, is an outlet for raw creativity. It therefore requires creativity to enjoy.

Or, if you prefer, it’s a survival test. Stuff spawns at night, and therefore you need to build shelter during the day or fight at night.

Yes, it is my opinion. I played the game and didn’t like it. Punching trees and digging huge holes in the ground to try and find minerals is not my idea of a fun game. I greatly prefer FPS, RTS, and racing games.

Minecraft isnt about graphics…its gameplay. The game is for the creative minded…similar to legos you can build and design just about anything along with exploring and such. If you dont enjoy building things and using you mind to be creative you may not like minecraft. But if you do like these things it is the best game ever.

I have never played it, but if you look on youtube then you will see some walk throughs of some amazing creations that must have taken weeks to build, or mine out i guess.

  5. I work at one of the top US firearm manufacturers and last summer we had an engineering team minecraft server going for months. Some folks from IT, environmental health and safety, and the cnc programming dept got on there as well. I wouldn’t classify any of us as “very socially awkward”…it definitely appeals to the creative, mechanically-inclined mindset.

Mike, as someone who apparently enjoys elaborate scenarios to get back at people, you should love minecraft. Our main IT guy burned down a huge wooden house that one of the engineers built, so the engineer spent like an hour packing the ground underneath the IT guy’s house with TNT and set up a pressure plate in front of the door to the house that would trigger it when IT guy went to his house.

We had to reset the map 3 or 4 times due to the number of craters that would accumulate.

    1. Oh and Mike — as a PS to Steve’s note:

It’s 20 bucks for the game + free life updates.
