Jerry Miculek Has Old Man Strength But Young Guy Vision

18×24″ steel at 200 yards, with a snub-nosed revolver held upside-down:

jackie-chan-mind-blownJerry be like “Aw you shoot targets with your snub-nosed revolver at 5-10 yards with the gun held properly? That’s cute”

How does a guy get old man strength but keep young guy vision?  Hell I have a prescription at 31, and I’m useless without my contact/glasses at 200 yards unmagnified on something that small with iron sights on a rifle… never mind an upside-down short sight radius of a revolver.

1:30 – Yea Jerry, I know how far 200 yards is… thanks for rubbing it in and taking me along for the ride. :P

Thoughts?

  1. I love Jerry. I met him at the NRA convention and he was a great guy.

  2. I can’t imagine how much practice it takes to get that good.

  3. omfg. Now lets get him to do that in a pilate’s pose!

  6. This guy for some reason really bugs me

  7. He’s very modest man. Not once did he mention he was going to use one hand.

The casual stance with the left hand in the pocket is what put it over the top for me. That, and the whole “well, gun shoots a little to the right, so of course it shoots left when it’s upside down”… with a snubbie at 200yd.

He is a great shooter no doubt, i wish i could have the job that he has made a livelihood at for the last 25 of so years, (ya know, almost as long as ive been alive) and that is a job just shooting. He should be that good. I guarantee that revolver has a smooth light trigger pull, lets see him do that with a ruger lcr stock lol. He is very fast with super light competition triggers but just as fast as alot of guys with stock triggers. Dont get me wrong i think he is great and definately has a skill set to admire and try to beat.

You’re partly right, in that JM has been doing this for a long time.

You’re completely wrong about the triggers, though. JM does much of his work with fairly heavy DA triggers, and from everything I’ve heard he does not depend on having a slicked-up action to perform his magic. You might want to do a little research before making claims like that.

  11. As snub-nosed revolvers go, that is probably the one to use for this kind of shooting.

I’ve played around with a few S&W revolvers similar to the one used in the video, and every one has had a bit of a ‘wall’ in the trigger pull once you’re down to just before the point where the hammer releases. Once you’re there, the revolver is effectively a single-action.

Watching the video, it’s pretty clear that he gets it to the wall, adjusts his aim, then breaks the shot.
