Girl Gets Worked Up About Campers In Battlefield 4

If everyone camped, multiplayer would be lame:

Battlefield-4Are girl gamers still a novelty in 2013?  I’m not at all into that culture so I don’t know.  I suppose girls doing anything is a novelty on the internet.

Thoughts?

That is funny. Yes. Gamer girls are rare.

No they’re not. 47% of all game players are women. In fact, women over the age of 18 represent a significantly greater portion of the game-playing population (30%) than boys age 17 or younger (18%).

Keep in mind that those statistics include so-called “casual” games. You know, things like Farmville, and words with friends.

The number of women who play real games is much smaller in my experience. At present, roughly 6.5-8% of my steam friends list is made up of women; Of the people I play with on a fairly regular basis, women make up more like 13.5%.

Also, it has been my experience that women tend to be much more common in competitive gaming circles, and in the more family-friendly gaming communities. Generally, the first group is older and more mature as a whole, while the latter has more strictly enforced discipline.

First of all games are games. The claim was that women aren’t really gamers and that’s just bunk. The assertion is nothing more than goal post moving by quantifying what a gamer is.

Secondly, you’re going to need to cite some actual sources. The plural of anecdote is not data.

“Games are games…”

By that “logic” you could say that a motorcycle is the same as a machinegun, because both will continue to consume their own brand of fuel until you manually stop them, or they run out. Words with friends is not a video game; it’s just computerized scrabble.

BTW, perhaps you should actually read what you used as your source material for your post earlier in this chain before you accuse me of making things up. Also, I was careful to separate the hard data (read my first paragraph carefully) from my own observations (pay close attention to my phrasing in paragraphs two and three above).

I guess you can agree then that,

Monopoly = Dungeons and Dragons
Honda Civic = Audi R8
Taurus Judge = Barrett M107

Don’t be dumb.

Yea thats hilarious. As a gamer and designer, I like and play BF4, its fairly fun. With that being said, it was made or at least partially designed with some griefer camper fucking chode bags in mind. They took the noob tube dial, turned it up to 11 and broke that son of a bitch off.

I like how ENDO-Mile always has to act too cool for school when he blogs about video games.

Funny that his real money comes from the gaming servers he owns and operates.

He sent me his old copy of COD: Black Ops 2. I 360 no scoped it. Vid to come… Soon.

That’s funny! I know a chick like that. It’s always worth the laughs to put-off the real fun for a while to watch her play COD or whatever it is she’s playin.

I think they’ve become less of a novelty thanks to computers and personal tech going mainstream. But as someone who grew up on the NES and lived through the 16-bit war, they’ll always seem exotic to me!

Being a Nub, just started “playing” BF3 in the past month (x-box), I can understand the camping – I spawn and have no clue what I’m doing, and rather then run around and get shot, I just hunker down and cry softly to myself.

I played a LOT of COD back in the day, however, I can’t seem to make the conversion from KB over to controler.

Back to female gamers, a lot of them don’t let on that they are female, due to most of the guys being total twits and pestering them for ……
