.22 LR Gravity Fired Out Of A Drinking Straw

Demolition Ranch with some more redneck science:

Ranch-DressingI see this being the new national pass time for bad news youth in the hood this summer. Lucky .22 LR is hard to get. ;)

Like Ranch said, theoretically the bullet wouldn’t be traveling very fast at all since it’s not inside any sort of chamber or barrel. How about a Bic pen? That’s a lot stiffer the probably about the same diameter.

Thoughts?

I probably wouldn’t have done that so close to my truck.

    1. Doesnt even matter, he shoots his truck with a tank anyway

  2. I just tried this with some 22 blanks and it didn’t work. What am i doing wrong?

    1. Blanks not heavy enough?

      1. I don’t know. I tried adding some small rocks to add weight but still didn’t work.

    2. I guess you didn’t science that shit hard enough

  3. Likely the bullet didn’t go very far and the case went flying due to physics. Only reason why guns work is they hold the case firmly in place so only the bullet can move.

  4. What a waste of .22

  5. am I the only one that’s thrown handfuls of .22 into a fire while camping? For the lulz?

  6. “You can’t be too safe” sounds funny coming from him.

I once tossed a .22lr, that did not fire properly in my target revolver, over my shoulder and when it landed on the concrete behind me it must have hit just right because it went off. I nearly had a heartattack and spent the next 30 minutes making sure that my house and nothing anywhere nearby was hit. I cant think it had any real power behind it because as stated there is no barrel or anything to channel the pressure or gasses, not to mention that the casing and the bullet would each absorb half of the energy expended, thus each would probably be going pretty slow, but it was still a pretty tense event.
