Training UK’s Teenage Cadets for Combat

VICE with another documentary:

The Army Cadet Force has over 46,000 cadets from the ages of 12 to 18, training in 1700 detachments all over the country. The super low-cost club evenings and training camps equip teenagers with discipline and skills in anything from orienteering and military knowledge to weaponry, first aid, and sports.

Training-UK-Cadets-For-CombatNote, I have no witty comments about this documentary because I am waiting until tomorrow to watch it.  Right now I only have one thing to say…. “ooooooh dat camouflage pattern”.

If I shouldn’t waste my time, please let me know in the comments.

Haha I know what a chav is but what’s a Walt? Google is only coming up with breaking bad and Walt Disney references.

        I think it’s a Walter Mitty reference.

When I lived in the UK, I was the only American in the Cadets as far as anyone knew. I was forced to wear BDUs vs the DPM everyone else wore, but I loved it.

  4. This is freaking brilliant. Much better than the damn boy scouts. I am a former Marine and I have also been a boy scout leader, this is by far superior to the boy scouts. I have always felt that the scouts should be much more military centered.

This doesn’t fill the same roll for them, as the Scouting program fills for kids in the US. This program is more akin to ROTC, JROTC.

The BSA would do itself a diservice if it were to become more militant.
