Austin, TX – Police have issued an arrest warrant for a man accused of injuring a gas station clerk while attempting to rob him — with a caulk gun.
The suspect fled the scene in the company of a transgender prostitute he’d picked up earlier in the evening, according to an affidavit issued by the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.

If he shifted any more weight to his rear foot he probably would have pulled the trigger and fell over.
The video is apparently from the Bi-Annual Knob Creek Machine Gun shoot in West Point Kentucky.
It’s hard to tell from the video, but the gun appears to be a suppressed MAC-10 or M-11 (chambered in 9mm as the description says). The AR-15 stock kit is a nice touch.
I don’t follow politics at all, but Rand Paul seems to be every bit as interesting as his father.

Unlike the Hard Liquor Alcohol Gun I posted about earlier… this one would be just plain disgusting to drink from:

Nothing like some shaken up beer foam to have you and your friends farting all night.
The idea is nicely executed though.
I’d post the website of the company that makes this, but I get a malware warning in my browser when I try to visit it.

- Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.
- Gun laws affect only law-abiding citizens.
- When more households have guns for self-defense, crime goes down.
- In high-crime urban neighborhoods, guns are as easy to get as fast food.
- Repealing Chicago’s handgun ban will dramatically increase gun crimes.

Made of equal parts Plastic, Awesome, and WIN:

Looks like an interesting way to make a mess at parties. It’s good they didn’t make it look much like a real gun, so there would never be any confusion.
LOL at the Negligent Discharge at 26 seconds, and the girl who gets it directly in the eyes at the end of the video.
The only link I can find where you could supposedly purchase this amazing creation is dead!

You could maybe settle with this $25 Revolver Liquor Dispenser from Amazon (pictured above right).

I had to roll my eyes when at 27 seconds the masked gunman pumped his fist as he fired his handgun.
According to 50 cent “The Gun” has a “socially conscious” theme. “It’s about how a weapon goes from manufacturing to its distribution point, to being in a citizen’s custody — and how it ends up in the wrong hands,” he said. “We watch the actual gun travel through a few different people’s hands.” (Source)
Hmmmm… I wonder if this is a movie that the Brady campaign is going to approve of? Ha, not likely.
The dropping of the bullet in the guy’s drink at the bar (1:38), and the line he says is pretty awesome.
Besides the inevitable scenes in this movie that will be worthy of an eye roll, I’ll probably go see in the theater (in 2011 apparently according to the IMDB page).

P.S. Nice trigger discipline for the poster 50

The reason ebay gave for the removal of the auction:
Images depicting high ranking Nazi officers are not permitted to be sold on the site. Please do not relist this item.
We recognize the historical significance of World War II and that there are many militaria collectors around the world. We allow some related historical items, but ban others, particularly items with Nazi markings and items which may be considered Nazi propaganda.

Interesting… If you search ebay for “Hitler Shirt” there are around 100 results. It appears that lots of times ebay has trouble enforcing their own rules.

Unconcealable isn’t a word as far as I know, but it still gets its point across. Very proactive of them to cover all their bases with 2 signs.

A long way from the guns and random vehicles I used to build with LEGO.
Pretty neat how the magazine works, and that the gun can actually his stuff at close range. With another elastic or two he could probably even make the gun semi automatic.

For a while now we have known that the ATF has had an interest in airsoft guns which they claimed could be turned into real firearms. We discussed it extensively in the following three posts:
Well it looks like our “calling out” of the ATF to prove their case, finally got a response. The results are what I expected, but hoped would not be the case.
The ATF response letter, dated May 19, 2010 (Click to enlarge):
I know nothing about airsoft rifles at all, but the letter is apparently regarding the JG M4 airsoft rifle (a copy of the Western Arms M4 GBB design). I am not sure if the WE TTI M4 shipment that was confiscated in Tacoma is still under investigation.
What does this letter mean for the (thousands of?) American kids who own these airsoft rifles? My guess is that if they do not destroy them immediately they will be violating federal law and their parents who are responsible for them could face long prison sentences, and/or substantial fines.
How are the majority of the owners of these airsoft rifles even going to find out that they are in violation of federal law? Who knows…
Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Why was this not decided as soon as the first shipment of these airsoft rifles hit our shores? Making people into criminals after the fact is not fair.
What do you guys think?

Fake? could be… but I’ve seen the exact same thing happen in a split second with my own eyes. Luckily my friend didn’t lose any teeth though, and still came away from the situation with a valuable lesson in physics.

While mounting the M2 machine gun onto the turret system of his MATV during pre-combat checks, this soldier experienced difficulty inserting the locking pin on the MOD 93 machine gun mount. The soldier then attempted to force the locking pin into place with a rock. After this failed, he then secured a loose .50 cal. round, using it to hammer at the locking pin, attempting to force the locking pin into place. After several hits with the .50 cal. round, the primer activated, setting the round off in the soldier’s hand. Extensive injuries were suffered to his right hand, middle, ring and pinky finger.
See the official weapons safety message memo – HERE
*Warning Very Graphic*

It’s really unfortunate when Darwin comes for soldiers… but hitting a live round? COME ON.. how does he think his machine gun fires? This incident would have been a bit more understandable if it occurred in the heat of combat, but the memo specifically states the soldier was mounting the M2 onto the turret, pre-combat.
On the bright side, I guess he get a ticket out of Trashcanistan.

According to a FOX news article today on security, hackers can aim a Bluetooth sniffing gun at you from long range and tap into your cellphone.

Yes, adding a stock to anything increases the stability of it, but If I saw someone pointing one of these things at me from a distance i’d be seeking cover not making assumptions and remarking “oh those crazy Bluetooth sniffers, up to their same old antics”

A patent application from Apple, entitled “System and Method for Authentication Based on Particle Gun Emissions,” was filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office this week. It states that current DRM methods for authentication, but by their nature they can lack security.
Apple’s solution would employ a particle gun, which would send an emission with unique physical properties to a receiver which would be able to verify the authenticity. The receiver would then generate a second value, and compare it with the first.

Pretty interesting idea. For consumers though, it sounds expensive. Yea its no i1911 (pictured) but it will have to do.
On a similar note… this youtube parody video makes me cringe:

Pointing a gun at a camera or computer screen is one thing, but putting it against your head and putting the trigger is a whole other level of stupidity.

When the police act as though cameras were the equivalent of guns pointed at them, there is a sense in which they are correct. Cameras have become the most effective weapon that ordinary people have to protect against and to expose police abuse. And the police want it to stop.
The legal justification for arresting the “shooter” rests on existing wiretapping or eavesdropping laws, with statutes against obstructing law enforcement sometimes cited. Illinois, Massachusetts, and Maryland are among the 12 states in which all parties must consent for a recording to be legal unless, as with TV news crews, it is obvious to all that recording is underway. Since the police do not consent, the camera-wielder can be arrested.

Absolutely insane that laws like this were able to pass. Police are public servants who are being paid to enforce the law. Pretty disgusting that some of them think they can break the law and suffer no consequences.

Download the files to make your own – HERE
I’d like to know what rapid prototyping service anyone that makes this uses. From my experience getting parts printed, a rough estimate on this cost of this particular project I’d say would be no less than $300, probably closer to $400. I assume printing it yourself on a Makerbot (pictured in the background of the picture) is exponentially cheaper.
I can’t say that I am impressed with the design itself, and I really don’t think holding a gun shaped object up to your head to talk on the phone is the best way to keep a low profile and not attract unwanted attention.
