Interesting video. Poor weapon manipulation skills.

I like Jack In The Box better than McDonalds so this doesn’t upset me one bit.  I actually can’t even remember the last time I ate McDonalds.  Jack In The Box I can remember, but that was a number of years ago as well.  Five Guys is my newest favorite burger place, second to In-N-Out Burger which sadly only has locations which are far away from me.

I’m not sure who the author of the painting is is, as I cannot read the signature.

About a week ago I reported on this incident, where Chicago’s Mayor Daley joked about shoving a rifle up a reporters ass:

So what would happen if you threatened Mayor Daley with the same thing?

Simple, you would be charged with making a threat against a public official. A double standard at its finest.

A San Jose, Calif., man was arrested Thursday for allegedly leaving a phone message at Daley’s office threatening to do the same to the mayor, a source said.

Christopher Fox, 39, was charged with making a threat against a public official, authorities said.

LOLz at around the 1 minute mark

“Oh!” Daley said. “It’s been very effective!”

He grabbed a rifle, held it up, and looked right at me. He was chuckling but there was no smile.

“If I put this up your—ha!—your butt—ha ha!—you’ll find out how effective this is!”

“If I put a round up your—ha ha!”

Full Story – HERE

Was his mind the victim of some sort of “Freaky Friday” type switcharoo?… seems like something a 4th grader would say rather then a the Mayor of our 3rd largest city.

Yesterday Mayor Daley offered a half-assed apology:

“Sure, I’ll be sorry,” said Daley, who added that the focus should not be on his contrition. “I’m not going to sing the song ‘I’m Sorry’ now, but sure, you can write it. But I hope I shocked you that you can write about now the gun manufacturers.”

Shove it Daley.

Francois Robert has created a series of powerful artworks made out of real human bones to remind people about the consequences of violence.

Human skeleton is a strong visual symbol that represents what is left after life has ended, after the flesh and mind cease to function.

Eight Primary schools in Liverpool (UK) are using the notorious Grand Theft Auto video game to teach pupils about violence.

The sessions are supposed to help youngsters understand the consequences of gun and knife crime. The youngsters are also given trading cards with images from the video game and the cartoons, alongside real-life images of drunks, knives, syringes and parents arguing.  The youngsters are asked to say whether what they see is ‘good real life’, ‘bad real life’, ‘not real life’ or ‘not sure’.

Sounds like one of the dumbest ideas I have ever heard.   Why are they even bothering to educated kids in the UK on gun and knife crime anyway?  I thought both were banned there.  :P   If there is one thing I hope the kids take away from this Grand Theft Auto education, it’s that its OK to fight back.  Basically if the guy shooting at you is using a handgun, by all means use a rocket propelled grenade launcher to take care of business.

Speaking of Grand Theft Auto… a new one comes out on April 13th for PS3 called “Episodes From Liberty City”… You can buy it on Amazon – HERE for only $38.54

Guns, Drugs, Violence, Foul Language, and Elementary School don’t exactly go hand in hand. It’s surprising that the parents of these kids actually thought doing a Scarface play was acceptable:

What’s more disturbing is that the acting actually isn’t bad.  The kids must have watched the actual movie quite carefully in order to research their roles.

Here is the actual end of Scarface for comparison:

I can’t think of a less kid-friendly movie to make a play about.

This Chevy Suburban fitted with a M2 machine gun was found in Nuevo Laredo Mexico, just across the Rio Grande from Texas:

Pretty scary considering some points of Nuevo Laredo are less than a mile from houses in Texas! (Google Map)

Unsurprisingly, Google does not have “street view” on their maps in that part of Mexico.  Probably something to do with their automated censor program not being able to tell a dead body from a live one. :P

Looks like the M2 would have limited mobility in the back of that suburban because due to the barrel length it would be trapped between the frame on the back right side window.

Whaaaaaaaaaat?

Damn I guess the schools in Chicago are rougher then I thought.

Why 27?  Are all the faculty members going to learn how to use them?

The police model they want is the cream of the Remington 870 crop… Pretty nice aftermarket parts on there too!

With some obviously fabricated information, and it was accepted:

Clicked Submit and…

Makes you wonder if there any checks and balances in place to ultimately discard my signature? What’s to stop some Brady goons from signing their own petition with made up names, or even more cleverly using address information out of the phone book or readily available online.  With minimal web programming skills a program could easily scrape the internet for valid addresses and automatically submit them to their little web application.  At the very minimum I find it surprising there was no zip code validation in the form;  55555 isn’t even an Arkansas zip.

I am now even less impressed by the 28,000 28,001 signatures they claim.

UPDATE: CREDO action, the company that is handling the Starbucks petition actually has zip code validation on their own site where people can sign the petition ( http://act.credoaction.com/campaign/starbucks_guns/ ).  There still isn’t any other validation.

Mission Statement

We are devoted to creating an America free from gun violins, where all Americans are safe at home, at school, at work, and in our communities.

The Brady Center works to reform the violin industry by enacting and enforcing sensible regulations to reduce gun violins, including regulations governing the violin industry. In addition, we represent victims of gun violins in the courts. We educate the public about gun violins through litigation, grassroots mobilization, and outreach to affected communities.

The Brady Campaign works to pass and enforce sensible federal and state violin laws, regulations, and public policies through grassroots activism, electing public officials who support common sense violin laws, and increasing public awareness of gun violins. Through our Million Mom March and Brady Chapters, we work locally to educate, remember victims, and pass sensible violin laws,

“Starbucks does not have a corporate policy regarding customers and weapons; we defer to federal, state and local laws and regulations regarding this issue,” Starbucks’ customer relations department said in response to the Brady Campaign’s request.

Take that Brady bunch.

The Brady Campaign claims they have 180,000 “members” nationwide.  I wonder how many of those people support their views, and are not just on that list for the LOLs every time they start a new crusade to rid the United States of evil guns.

My first thought was that I was on the wrong site…

Then I looked again at the URL and sure enough it was http://www.bradycampaign.org/

Did they get hacked? NOPE.. All real.

These stories I post about are getting more and more ridiculous every day!

I love that altered logo they did!  If I were Starbucks, I’d adopt that for a “National Open Carry Day” and embrace the movement with free coffee if you are carrying a gun (wishful thinking I know :P )

Check out the actual petition – HERE

These individuals who have been carrying guns into Starbucks have all the firepower of a SWAT team, and none of the law enforcement training.

SecondAmendment

If the first amendment was treated like the second amendment…

Any speech using 10 or more foreign words would be a felony.
(Firearm law 922(r) restricting 10 or more foreign gun parts from the 1989 import ban)

Anyone convicted of a felony or convicted of misdemeanor domestic abuse or assault is not allowed freedom of speech or religion and must rely on the government to provide speech and religion for them.
(1968 gun control act)

Any speech or religions that are done in a scary tone or feel are banned.  Any assembly that looks scary is banned.
(1994 Federal Assault Weapon Ban that went after mostly cosmetic features)

Before engaging in new free speech you must pass an instant background check by a government authorized free speech dealer.  Sorry, if your name is like someone else prohibited from speech and religion, it is up to you to prove you’re not that person.
(NICS instant background check and Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act of 1993)

Any speech or work with more than 10 sentences per page is forbidden, any peaceable assembly with more than 10 people is also banned.
(Hi-Capacity Magazine bans in the Assault Weapon Ban and in many states to this day)

‘Freedom of Speech’ was only meant to be applicable to movable type presses.  The founding fathers didn’t foresee television, radio, photographs, telephones, film, or the internet.
(The idea that the 2nd amendment only applies to muskets)

You cannot exercise free speech or religion on federal property or at a school.
(Section 930. Title 18, United States Code and the Gun Free School Zone Act of 1990)

Any religions, peaceable assemblies, camera, computer, telephone or free speech enabling device made before 1986 is available to use by the general public.  Any made after 1986 is only available to law enforcement.
(Closing of the NFA machine gun registry in 1986 by Regan with the Firearms Owner’s Protection Act)

A legal Polaroid camera from 1972 is now worth over $10,000 because you can’t get any new ones after 1986.  Sure you can get an illegal one, but you risk a 10-20 year felony conviction if caught.
(Market effects of the 1986 registry closure)

You can follow any religion, read any book, talk about whatever you like AFTER you pay a $200 tax to the government and pass a background check.  If you decide to buy more books, try another religion, or talk about something else, you must pay another $200 and go through another lengthy background check.
(National Firearm Act of 1934)

You CANNOT have free speech no matter what in Washington DC, it has been this way since 1977.
(Washington DC handgun ban)

Concealing free speech/religion is only permissible in some states and only after you have spent $100 and attended a state mandated course on how to speak/worship properly.  Though in some states you can’t conceal or display your speech or religion at all outside of your home.
(Conceal Carry Legislation and open carry laws)

You cannot have free speech if you are under 18 and you can’t worship anything until you are 21.
(Age restrictions on buying long guns and handguns)

If you wish to exchange free speech with a citizen in another state you must involve a government sanctioned free speech dealer to ensure they are allowed that type of free speech in their state.
(1968 Gun Control Act which mandates a FFL be needed for interstate gun purchases and transfers)
