Entertaining Pistol Training Exercises Video

You gotta love the transitions from standing to prone, and the awesome forward and lateral rolls.   This whole video reminds me of Ice Capades.

The tags in the video suggest that its Russian Spetsnaz (Russian Special Forces) training.  Those guys definitely have some interesting methods, to say the least.

One thing I found very odd was the opening scene when the shooter has their finger on the trigger during the magazine change.  Then proceeds to rack the slide with their finger still on the trigger.

  1. I think he’s only wearing camo so his wife doesn’t kill him for coming home with grass stains all over his clothes.

Or his mom! They are probably filming that video in one of their mom’s backyards.

I was just waiting to hear “Yuri, come empty the damn dishwasher!”

Spetznaz?? Spaz, maybe. Shouldn’t these guys have armor plates duct-taped to their backs?

With those moves I’m sure they will be able to dodge all the bullets. :P

  3. I wouldn’t be surprised if he really was trained this way in the Spetsnaz. I watched a “who would win – ninjas or pirates” type show on the History channel or something about a year ago and they did an episode on U.S. Army Special Forces vs the Russian Spetsnaz and they had retired dudes from both military organizations display their weapons and techniques. And sure enough the Spetsnaz guy was rolling and flipping around on the ground with a Saiga shotgun I think. It looks pretty silly if you ask me and I doubt it’s all that useful.

“who would win – ninjas or pirates” hahahhah

If I spent any time around those Spetsnaz guys I’d get sick and tired of getting muzzle swept constantly.

I doubt Spetsnaz uses CZ pistols (if they are that and not Browning BDMs). And anyway, the fact that 1: in the first clip he fumbled pretty badly. 2:Why would spetsnaz film this sort of thing? suggests they’re not SF. However, I do know for a fact that the moves are used by Spetsnaz. I’ll post the links.

wasted youth…. But seriously, I think we have a lot to learn from the Russians. One thing that confuses me, though, is the huge amount of SF units that they have: MVD, VDV, Spetsnaz, OMOH, Vympel (spies really), FSB, GRU, Team A (Why not A team?) I mean, Is there something I’m missing?

I don’t know enough about Russia to comment, but your’re right there does seem to be a heck of a lot of SF units.

  6. It looks like guys that have seen systema and are trying to mimic it. I have seen some of the ground positions they use in systema, and it seems to be about economy of movement and keeping a low profile (there was a video somewhere of a guy on his back with an AK showing that he could aim and fire in a 360° arc). The guys in the original vid just seem to be flopping for the fun of it

I just watched a couple of youtube videos on systema after seeing your comment. Very interesting stuff, some of it does seem far fetched though when you consider its utility in a uncontrolled environment.

That 360° AK shooting video you mention sounds interesting.

      1. I know I have seen a better one where he actually takes aim in each position…but this is the best I could find http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4Mp_UvbfTY&feature=related

Here is a better example, but with a pistol

LOL Those are priceless! Thanks for finding them and getting back to me. I’ll use them in a new post!

On another note, what is your facebook group about? I don’t have a facebook account, so when I click on your link I just get the generic sign in page. Do you have a website too so I can credit you when I post those videos?

          1. I saw the post. AWESOME!

I don’t have website as of now. The facebook group is about the frustrations with Bushmaster over their dropping the ball by cutting features from the ACR and bringing the release price way up from their projections (I actually need to test that link again I thought it worked even if you don’t have facebook)

The group is called “Boycott Bushmaster!”

I pasted it to my one friend with facebook and he said the link didn’t work.

              1. well I think I have successfully changed it now

cool it works now… I can even see it without a facebook account.

  7. How about the muzzle sweep around 1:20? That was silly…
