Austin, TX – Police have issued an arrest warrant for a man accused of injuring a gas station clerk while attempting to rob him — with a caulk gun.
The suspect fled the scene in the company of a transgender prostitute he’d picked up earlier in the evening, according to an affidavit issued by the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.

So Im wondering if the clerk was packing, and drew and shot the perp, if it would be a defensible shooting. “Ahhhhh….Errrrrr. Welllllllll…… Mmmmmmmm…It looked like a gun.”
Yea who knows. If that would have happened it would have been bad for gun owners though cause you know the media would have spun that to a “shoot first ask questions later” situation.
I remember a story similar, a guy was using a toy gun, the owner drew a derringer and said “this is a gun”, shooting him in the head.

Makes me glad I don’t live in Austin proper. I’m 35 miles north. Austin has shirts and a slogan that say ‘Keep Austin Weird’. Well a lot of the cities around Austin have shirts saying ‘Keep Normal.’
