Cardboard Warfare

Pretty awesome work for some young kids.

The camera they used is the Canon T2i Digital SLR that I have been wanting for a long time.

I have to laugh when people say “Why buy a Digital SLR for video… why not buy a video camera?”… Yea well great idea except for the fact there are no video cameras out there for anywhere near $1000 that can interchange professional lenses and provide the same quality of video.  Sure there are some short comings, but you can’t beat the price.

The same camera is used by youtuber freddiew whose gun related videos I posted about HERE and HERE

Okay, when a bunch of kids using cardboard everything and some limited special effects to produce a compelling and entertaining fight scene- Hollywood is in one sad state of affairs.

    That’s pretty f’n cool!

  3. When the video started I thought it was going to be kinda lame – That was awesome :)

I dig the T2i too. I’ve been a Canon guy ever since I switched to digital from 35mm. I’ll probably never drop the coin needed to own the T2i, but it is a great value for the money. Full HD video would be cool…. but I’ve got too many guns on my “to buy list”.

Yea it’s definitely a toss-up for me to buy another gun or that camera. Although maybe I can somehow use that camera to make money to buy more guns… that would be nice.

      1. Buy the camera; I would imagine you’d use it more than you would another gun. I can’t justify replacing my 40D and Xti, but if I could I’d love to trade them for a 7D and a T2i, or a 50D and a T1i (I like having both cameras take the same dimension photos).

I’ve never sought to make any money taking photos, but I have made more than enough to buy a nice gun (or something else) just from people seeing photos, or word of mouth, and asking me to take engagement photos, or Christmas party and other corporate event photos. You never know, you might be good at it!

yea good call. I didn’t mean make me money from doing weddings and what not, I meant I could use it indirectly to drive traffic to my sites to leverage my brand(s).

          1. Hey, you tell yourself whatever you need to to justify buying it! I couldn’t picture myself ever using the video on it really (I have a couple of decent digital video cameras now that I never use), and if a person wasn’t concerned about the video feature, I’d suggest looking at the Canon Rebel XS. It’s half the price of the T2i and has features very similar to the older XTi. It’s more than enough camera for most people, and definitely for those who are new to those type of cameras – it’s a big step up from a point-and-shoot. Plus, you have to figure that with either camera you’re going to need to spend another several hundred dollars on another lens or two.

  4. That was awesome! I too wasn’t expecting something so great when it first started. Amazing what’s possible with technology that’s available to everyone, no longer just movie studios.

top video and well done with sfx.

  6. Now my boys are going to be disappointed that their cardboard guns lack recoil and muzzle flash.

I wonder what happened to the holes in the toyota’s windshield between the initial ambush and the escape…
