Miss Liberty America

The usual interview, swimsuit, and beauty components are still there… but these are the awesome parts:

Marksmanship  (20 points)

In the preliminaries each of the 50 contestants chosen will show their expertise in the use of firearms (pistol and rifle). The contestants will be judged on accuracy, use and safety as well as any additional expertise the contestant my possess.  (This portion of the competition will be taped and edited for the live telecast)

Knowledge of the Constitution, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence (35 points)

Each contestant will be asked 3 specific questions that will demonstrate the contestants knowledge of these fundamental American documents.

  • The judging is set to be done by 15 U.S. Military Officers.
  • Part of the price is a Lifetime NRA Membership, and a Handgun and Rifle of her choosing.  Badass!

According to the about page, we can look forward to this pageant July 4th weekend in 2012.

The Miss Liberty America website – HERE

The website is extremely suspect, but the idea behind the pagent is awesome.

  1. Bonus points should be awarded for not dressing up like a tramp for the shooting portion of the competition.
How many have been to a range where a woman has “dressed to impress” and ended up doing the “Dance of hot brass down a deep v cut shirt” while still holding a loaded firearm. Flapping arms around, dancing and gesturing wildly while still holding holding an loaded shooting iron. Not cool!

Booty shorts and tight boots are fairly safe though. :P

  2. Interesting idea, but some of the rules, and the mention of military members on the judging board give me pause…

And that webpage is made of suck and annoyance…

Yea it almost appears that someone made that site up in an afternoon by just brainstorming and typing.
