Please Help The Blog Out On Social Networking Sites

I don’t ask you guys for much, but I’d like to ask you to please help increase my social networking presence:

You can do this the following ways:

I underestimated the power of facebook and got a really late start. The number of followers I currently have there is not at all representative of the actual traffic this blog gets.  I hope you guys can bring that a bit closer to equilibrium for me.

  • Please visit my Facebook page HERE and click the “Like” button.
  • Once you are there if you could also click the “Suggest To Friends” link in the right sidebar under my blog banner, and tell all your friends about the blog that would be awesome.

I made up a little explanatory graphic if you’re new to Facebook:

Twitter is a good place to keep track of blog posts because notification can get sent straight to your phone.  I also give occasional updates on when new posts are going to be appearing if I get a bit off schedule.

Please go to my Twitter page HERE and click the “Follow” button. You need a Twitter account to follow someone.

I haven’t come out with new content for a while.. but once I do you’ll be notified of it.

Please go to my YouTube page HERE and click the “Subscribe” button at the top of the page.

Alternately you can also just go to this direct link to the subscribe button.

Thanks a lot for supporting the blog. You guys keep me very motivated to write new posts with the amount of traffic you are sending here. Keep on clicking those “tweet” and “like” buttons on all regular posts!

-Mike

Thanks Camon. hehe yea I find with Twitter it seems that people either love it or hate it… I’m kind of on the fence with that one most days.

  2. Hello,
While I love you site I must say that urging people to go on to Face Book is a bad idea. Thirty years in IT and Security has convinced me that the privacy concerns in the media are just the tip of the iceberg.

Opinion here: Also statistically these sites are more fad than anything else ( see ICQ, AOL etc…)

Just an opinion but you just have to count me by site hits.

    Thanks for blog!

I was hoping people that already had facebook would “like” my page. Friending and Liking are two different things on there, I don’t see any personal info when they click “like”, and I don’t have access to pictures their wall or anything.

I agree with you that ICQ and AOL were fads, and Facebook might not be around for ever either if they don’t make changes. Currently though, I don’t think you can ignore the popularity of facebook, and it’s free so I figure why not use it if it’s helping me spread the word about the blog.

In the end, I just appreciate however people choose to follow and support what I write on here.

  3. Added on FB and twitter. Keep up the good work with the blog, I really enjoy it.
