Fierce Rainbow Titanium Sig Sauer P239

I applaud Sig’s effort in going after even the smallest gun markets.

You can check out the Sig Sauer website – HERE

What do you say openly gay frequent commenter “That one guy” … is it fierce enough?

Others feel free to chime in too with your suggestions on how it could be improved.

This looks shooped. I can tell from some of the pixels and from seeing quite a few shoops in my time.

Thanatos June 12, 2011 at 01:42 am

Why is “That looks shopped” the argument of the new millennium?! The pixels are not off enough to prove a thing, and I’ve been doing graphics editing for 20 years.

The gun IS legit and looks the exact same way from a WIDE variety of gun pros AND from SIG’s summer catalog as well…..pixelation not withstanding. SIG is also releasing a diamond plate P239.

I never understood people wanting shiny guns?! I don’t want light reflecting off mine or light reflection screwing up my sighting something in. Am I missing the attraction, or is it just an ego/attention thing?!

Dom June 12, 2011 at 07:11 am

To be fair, the word “FIERCE” is indeed ‘shopped onto this image. For comparison:

Josh June 12, 2011 at 12:20 pm

So are the words “EVERYDAY, NO DAYS OFF GUN BLOG.”

I don’t think that’s what was trying to be pointed out though. I could be wrong.

Josh June 12, 2011 at 07:47 pm

LOL. Until I just was rereading this thread, I didn’t even notice that the word “Fierce” is spelled wrong. Remember – “I after E, except after C, and in words sounding “A” as in neighbor and weigh.”

ENDO-Mike June 12, 2011 at 09:06 pm

Fierce? It’s spelled correctly. I just double checked.

Josh June 12, 2011 at 09:13 pm

Staying up till 5 in the morning drinking must be making me dyslexic. I seriously don’t know what the hell I saw earlier. My apologies!

I’m going to bed early tonight and catching up on sleep!

Thanatos June 13, 2011 at 12:16 am

True, and so is the Everydaynodaysoff logo. I meant that rainbow titanium coloring was not shopped. No, the FIERCE was put there…..not sure by whom down the line though. Most of the images that I found on other sites did NOT have the FIERCE on them. There is only one other blog/site that I found that did have the FIERCE on it and it appears to have been ripped off of here…..or possibly the other way around…..lol

ENDO-Mike June 13, 2011 at 12:18 am

Nope, that was my photoshop. Email me the link to the other site please.

Josh June 12, 2011 at 04:45 am

I can tell from some of the pixels and from seeing quite a few shoops in my time.

You can’t tell anything of that sort on a low quality 780×613 jpeg picture. Probably saved on a lower quality, web-ready setting, adding to the pixelation problem.

It’s over on thefirearmblog website:
http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2011/06/09/sig-p239-with-rainbow-titanium-finish/

It was shown here:
http://thetruthaboutguns.com/2011/06/robert-farago/new-sig-sauer-p239-rainbow-titanium/

Oh, and here, on the website sigsauerguns.com, they announce it:
http://www.sigsauerguns.com/product-highlights/sigs-summer-refresh/

And how about this – video of the Sig handgun project manager showing it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bUKqOP5nYo

Might want to make an appointment with your optometrist before trying to diagnose any pictures as fakes in the future.

Austin June 12, 2011 at 01:35 pm

You guys seriously need to take a look at knowyourmeme.com once in a while. The “This looks shopped from the pixels and from seeing quite a few shops in my time” is a meme used as a joke. He wasn’t really saying that the gun was fake.

Josh June 12, 2011 at 12:22 pm

I see that, for some unknown reason, the comment I left last night pointing out other instances of this gun is hung up… maybe it will eventually come through.

Eightbyte June 12, 2011 at 04:14 pm

God guys, it was just a joke. Getting your knickers in a bunch for nothing…
See Austin’s post.

TrutusJones June 12, 2011 at 12:27 am

LOL good one. They should have made the polymer rainbow colored too tho!

MusaJames June 12, 2011 at 01:50 am

If I was gay I wouldn’t go anywhere without a gun. I think I would want it to look more intimidating though.

That one guy June 12, 2011 at 03:52 am

I feel so loved…. *sniff*

Is it fierce enough? In the ugly department yeah :/. Support pride by toting around an insultingly ugly hand gun? One that’s not even a .45? Someone’s looking for a limp-wrist slap D:< *Le slap*. And if someone buys this with the serious intention of supporting gay pride… *Le pistol whip*

The only thing this rainbow finished monstrosity will support is a couple of laughs from your gun buddies lol.

And somehow this is still less gay than those ginormous revolvers you see truckers and bikers and tough guys carry around. Long, hard, they flaunt it, when threatened they usually threat back "I will shove my*insert giant magnum heer* Up your ass", and they usually carry it in such a way that they can fwip it out at any moment and put it to someone's forehead or cheek or mouth or rear. Replace gun with penis and holster with aussiebum briefs and hiyoooo (http://www.hiyoooo.com/)

… By that logic, if you wanna support the pride, go buy a magnum with the longest barrel you can find and an itty bitty holster to put it in, and not this rainbow tinted crap. If the end of the barrel is poking out of it, plus points for you xD

Todd S June 12, 2011 at 12:55 pm

“By that logic, if you wanna support the pride, go buy a magnum with the longest barrel you can find and an itty bitty holster to put it in, and not this rainbow tinted crap. If the end of the barrel is poking out of it, plus points for you xD”

Just hilarious… kudos

Paranoid in Montana June 12, 2011 at 07:31 am

I’m not gay but one of these is coming home. The wife wants a handgun and this one matches her pocket knife. Not everything has to be taticool black. Frankly a titanium nitride coating is slicker than the Nitron finish they usually use. Perhaps this one won’t need a quarter inch of grease on the rails to prevent premature rail wear.

That one guy June 12, 2011 at 08:13 am

No desert eagle for the wife? :3

Just make sure you get it in the .40 so she’ll actually stop something if she’s ever forced to use it lol.

Paranoid in Montana June 13, 2011 at 07:00 am

The gun she will shoot is worth more than the one she won’t. .40 isn’t some magical talisman that causes bad guys to fall down when the see the barrel. You actually have to hit something vital. Just like any other bullet.

jpcmt June 12, 2011 at 11:34 am

On behalf of the pro 2A group in San Francisco “Pink Pistols” (or something like that), Sig should make this with a pink frame.

Chefjeffh June 12, 2011 at 11:52 am

I’m sorry but it just looks cheap, like something you could buy in the toy section at Dollar General. I think Sig should do a little research on the Gay community. Not all gays love shiny and gawdy. I need a handgun, but I don’t think I would keep that one even as a gift. I’m with “that one guy”, I think I’ll go with a medium sized gun that packs a punch and doesn’t feel like I’m waving a bowling ball around, and taking Thanatos suggestion, doesn’t reflect light. P.S. Not gay, I just like the extension of their Penis.

That one guy June 12, 2011 at 09:09 pm

If you wanna show support, slap some salmon-pink triangles on it somewheres. Not coat it in a “Cheap dollar store rainbow film that you can scratch off with your fingernails” coating. But this is less a gay pride thing than it is just an option. Could have sworn they offered it long before this :3

And yer damn right we all aren’t about the gaudy and the bling and such. I’ll take my guns plain jane, and dark. Black on black never hurt nobody. You have to shield your eyes to look at that sig D:

“P.S. Not gay, I just like the extension of their Penis”
Lolwut?

Chrome June 14, 2011 at 11:44 pm

Black on black never hurt nobody. You have to shield your eyes to look at that sig D:

But it sounds like you don’t even need a tactical strobe with one of these things!

The finish is crazy durable, though. I have a Rainbow Leek that’s only got the tiniest hint of scratches, and it’s datestamped 2003.

mlk18 June 12, 2011 at 01:31 pm

It looks like someone from an Austin Powers movie.

Mike June 12, 2011 at 01:55 pm

Just imagine how someone might feel, after being shot with this… That would be a very embarrassing scar.

Skittles: Taste the rainbow.

Josh June 12, 2011 at 02:14 pm

I know what you mean. My car was hit by a mid-nineties Mustang Cobra that had the mystic paint that changes colors depending on the light and the angle you view it from, kind of like this gun, and I was so embarrassed. It would have been much less embarrassing to have had my car wrecked by an all black Mustang.

Joe June 12, 2011 at 08:48 pm

Sig 239 “fierce” that’s some funny shit.

It’s missing some leopard skin grips

Josh June 13, 2011 at 07:28 am

It should say, “FIERCCCCCCCE.” So when you say it there’s a full two seconds of the “s” sound.

Thanatos June 13, 2011 at 12:19 am

If you want really shiny, take a look at the diamond plate one they are also selling!! You wouldn’t have to shoot them, you can blind both them and you for life with the shiny $h*t!!!!! Hell, throw a couple of high intensity strobes on top of it just for the added flare!

another poster June 13, 2011 at 12:34 am

just a re-post from another blog if you follow more than one blog on the net you start to see the duplicates

http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2011/06/09/sig-p239-with-rainbow-titanium-finish/
couple of days before this post

not saying he copies other blogs just does not post as fast as others

ENDO-Mike June 13, 2011 at 12:36 am

Uh no. I made that photoshop.. I make fun of shit on here and put my own spin on things. If you want regular boring news and safe jokes there are 20 other boring blogs you can follow.

Archos June 13, 2011 at 12:46 am

+1 to that good sir.

That one guy June 13, 2011 at 03:49 am

And that’s exactly why we love you and the things you do :3

Kevin June 13, 2011 at 12:44 am

repost? Did you not notice that he turned it into a joke rather than just report the same dull “sig came out with a gay looking gun”?

Punish3r June 13, 2011 at 01:37 am

Winning

Antibubba June 15, 2011 at 04:08 pm

If you really wanted to make fun, you should have publicized the “grip and recoil improvements, to reduce limp-wristing!”

Or not. A lot of Pink Pistols (slogan: Armed gays don’t get bashed) are outstanding shooters.

That one guy June 15, 2011 at 10:08 pm

I’m sure even those… less than savory folk who are part of the Pink Pistols would agree that Rainbow Titanium is an ugly choice lol.

santoochi July 6, 2011 at 09:22 am

The real funny thing here is that on Sig’s Announcement via Youtube their rep says it is offered in 9mm when it is a .40

– silly rabbit, Trix are for kids!

Josh July 6, 2011 at 09:32 am

It’s just a finish on a P239, right? A P239 comes in 9mm, .40 S&W, and .357 SIG. So, what the hell are you talking about?

santoochi July 6, 2011 at 07:34 pm

Because like all things Sig Sauer they will NOT SELL YOU something they don’t want to and they don’t want to sell you a P239 in titanium in 9mm. Among the other things they won’t sell you are adjustable night sights for this gun, although they do have them and they will install them if you send them the gun. They simply will not take an order for this in anything but .40 and if you ask why they will send someone to your home and make you eat schnitzel and do pushups while listening to the Scorpions “Rock You like a Hurricane”. It’s happened like 3 times to me already and I plan on calling again tomorrow…

ENDO-Mike July 6, 2011 at 10:10 pm

if you ask why they will send someone to your home and make you eat schnitzel and do pushups while listening to the Scorpions “Rock You like a Hurricane”.

ROFL!

Josh July 7, 2011 at 06:46 am

they will send someone to your home and make you eat schnitzel and do pushups

I would expect schnitzel from a German company; maybe cheese would be more appropriate for a Swiss one.

santoochi July 11, 2011 at 11:14 pm

It was a reference to their Philosophy not their country of origin

Mike July 12, 2011 at 06:04 pm

I, as a German, will take that as a compliment. And thanks for not mentioning that Austrian stuff known as ‘wiener schnitzel’.

santoochi July 23, 2011 at 07:36 pm

I just said schnitzel- but leave it to a German to insert an extra wiener.
