USMC Signs Licensing Deal With Crosman Airsoft

Really Marine Corps…. Really?

From the Crosman press release:

According to Crosman Vice President of Marketing, Roy Stefanko, “Saying that we’re excited about this agreement is an understatement. It is truly an honor to be chosen by the U.S. Marine Corps in facilitating a project of this magnitude. By introducing a complete line of airsoft products branded “Marines Airsoft,” we recognize a strategic business opportunity that will benefit a revered organization, as well as contribute to our continued growth in the airsoft category,” said Stefanko.

Chosen by the U.S. Marine Corps?  So the USMC was actively looking for a company to produce some shitty airsoft guns for kids?  Wow.. nice…

Also, explain to me how having the eagle, globe and anchor logo plastered all over some Chinese made plastic guns is going to help the USMC?

  1. Well I hope they get to NJ fast for all the air soft aficionados as our state legislature is attempting to require a Firearms ID card and a pistol purchase permit to buy Air soft. Ahh the pleasures of living behind the second amendment Iron curtain in the People’s Republik of New Jerski

The Army works with Tippmann for paintball markers, so the Marines had to pick something else. I did hear USAF just signed a deal with Office Max for a special line off chairs though.

Then the Navy should license something like this to put their name on next.

Those look pretty badass to me! I’ve got more respect for a paintball game than Airsofters.

I find lots of paintball guns (those included) look pretty cool until you screw that scubadiving tank onto the end of them.

        1. Yeah, and those hoppers that go on the top kind of ruin the look too. But, at least with paintball you can see what you hit, so there’s some actual game to it, not just a bunch of guys trying to look and act just like real soldiers.

          1. I used to do tournament paintball, with the air bunkers and jerseys an such, so it wasn’t too bad not having a gun that looked “realistic”, but after doing a speedball game with the hopper AND the tank on and full you get some strong arms.

  6. Come on guys, we all know that if a 10 year old defends his nation (i.e. back yard) with a USMC airsoft rifle 8 years later he will clearly sign up and join the Marines. And as dumb as that sounds, there is a small percentage of time where it is true.

That is EXACTLY why this was done. Perfect marketing idea. Same with the Army Tippmann’s LOL/Josh are talking about. Too bad the Army got the good quality (Tippman’s are extremely durable markers) and the Marines get stuck with Crosman’s sucky stuff…

    Also, The marines.
The few, the proud, and the derp :3

  8. Jesus Christ… help me…. my head is about to explode… As former marine, this kind of hurts and is embarrassing enough to infuriate. I’m really not sure what they are doing here. This is in no way good for the image that has been diligently cultivated. I’m really not sure whats happened here. I’m literally in a state of bewilderment.

    1. As former marine

My buddies and I, we were soldiers once, and young. But I thought once a Marine, always a Marine? :)

      1. Most don’t take that too seriously lol

        1. I would question the mental well-being of the ones that took it really seriously! LOL

  9. I see the purpose of this — they are trying to subliminally recruit kids who already have some exposure to weapons and the military world. It makes sense. However, they could not have chosen a worst brand to make this stuff.

I’m a pretty big airsofter myself (its fun to feel the intensity of real combat without any of the danger), but makes cheap, unrealistic airsoft guns that get sold at walmart. At least pick a brand that makes 1:1 exact replicas of the real thing, like G&G or Magpul.

I also see a training purpose for airsoft in the military, but it pains me to see stuff like this.

How can you feel the intensity of combat airshitting? You have no threat of death. Airshitters are wannabe war re-enactors. They already ride the Marine Corps’ dick. Every one I’ve met already adores the Marines probably due to the immense amount of money they spend advertising themselves in every facet of the media. Reminds me of Apple.

Magpul doesn’t make airsoft products, The Magpul PTS line is made by a few companies in Hong Kong and are licensed by Magpul.

I’ve never been an airsofter, but I’m sure the adrenaline rush is similar to paintball. The paint hurts when you get hit until you’ve become accustomed to it, nothing compared to real combat by any stretch – but still a rush and very fun.

Just because you’re not a fan doesn’t mean it sucks. And Apple rocks…I love my iMac ;-)

    2. ^I meant that Crosman makes cheap products.

  10. On a related note, I saw an official Hk branded airsoft rifle at a sporting goods shop of a G36C. Ironic how that’s here in the states, but real steel wise, we get the neutered version of it – the SL8…
