The CGI in this is off the chain:
Right on, Rihanna even looks good with short hair and a hat. Not that I expected she wouldn’t have.
Basically this movie looks like what I imagine Transformers 4 will look like.
I usually end up watching this type of movie eventually, since the CGI is so impressive and the action is non stop.

Not a chance. Transformers 3 was so horrible I was rooting for the Decepticons by the end of the film. I’ll wait until this one comes out on PPV.

Looks like B-roll from the Transformers movies. Maybe I’m just getting older, but I’d rather have a good story with acceptable SFX instead of awesome visuals with no story (or in the case of the Star Wars prequels and all 3 Transformers movies, an incoherent, disjointed, A.D.D. plotline). The art of story-telling is dying. Maybe dead.

I’m guessing the tie-in to the game will be when the force field drops. I’m betting that it will disable most if not all of the electronic warfare gear in their CIC, leaving them to use visuals, map coordinates and visuals to engage the enemies with their 16-inch guns.
I’m wiling to give this one a chance – I thought the director, Peter Berg, did an outstanding job with The Kingdom.
This movie looks absolutely terrible. Liam Neeson has made some really good movies, but then he agrees to crap like this, and that movie Unknown? I think he doesn’t know how to say, “NO.” That’s a quality you look for in a good-looking girl, not a top-rate actor. Some of the scenes in this trailer look like they could have been deleted scenes from the latest Transformers movie… yawn.

Given the lack of innovation that seems to be the order of the day in Hollywood, I’d honestly rather just see “Independence Day” re-released than go watch this.

I want a continuation to Battle:LA before this. While it might be a nice scifi CG film, I swear to God they plop a love story into my explosions and I’ll walk out. That said, funny, I thought the Iowa-class were basically “this class is in so much mothballs it’s what keeps em afloat” kind of deal?
I’d be totally down to watch Two-Face slaughter some more aliens with his squad of ultimate Marine bad-asses. Maybe this time they’ll have tactical smart missiles, phase-plasma pulse rifles, RPGs, sonic electronic ball breakers! Nukes, knives, sharp sticks…
Yeah seriously, the only Iowa class ship that isn’t a museum ship (or scrap) today is the USS Iowa & the likelihood of that thing ever being reactivated outside of a Hideo Kojami video game (that’s assuming the Missouri isn’t available) is so slim, it shouldn’t even be considered.
