Battlefield Live Action Shenanigans

From Freddiew and Corridor Digital:

I really need to stop posting videos about games I know nothing about.   I can appreciate both these videos for the cool videography, but besides that they both seem incredibly useless to me.

I think Freddiew realized that no matter what he does, it will get 1 Million views within a few days subsequently making him thousands of dollars in advertising revenue. Why even bother coming up with lots of unique new ideas when you’re getting money thrown at you for boring videos? Best to save the good ideas and use them every so often.

They’re getting nicer and nicer but I honestly feel they’ve really sold out nowadays. Well, not Corridor Digital, they still do crapton more videffects videos, but Freddie and Brandon have really made a name for themselves and their earlier videos are increasingly nostalgic and “I remembered when they were cool” kind of deal.

And yeah, they had a whole set with tanks and pyro and ActionFactory to play with, but I don’t see much video editing and post production magic, which made me watch them in the first place.

That said I haven’t repair tool destroyed an enemy vehicle yet. I normally get killed. ._.;; So I just resort to the good old Mortar to remind idiot Tankers that if they don’t know how to be mobile, getting killed by a mortar is kinda a sign of being a noob.

And it takes like 3-4 mortar strikes to get a tank, especially if they have add on armor and if my aim is slightly off.

      1. Personally, I prefer a Javelin. Although, when a sniper uses the soflam, it makes it pretty much the best possible option.

  2. Freddiew has always been about the video and special effects. The guns are just medium to his desire to become the next great director. Be thankful his gun handling is above par for California.

  3. Both videos are pretty fun. Looks like Freddie’s weapons are coming along a lot better than when he started out with some cheap fake-looking airsoft guns. You can still tell they’re fake, but he’s got the motion and sound for all of the manipulations.

I still find it funny the only lingo you hear in videos like this is taken from shows like Generation Kill calling out “enemy foot mobiles”.

He’s probably got the cashflow and sponsorship deals to borrow/buy WE or similar high end Airsoft manufacturers. Now if he really wanted to step up his game, move filming to Nevada and to the ranch of a very friendly gun owning fan.

  4. Special effects or not, there is no substitute for the real thing and/or rehearsing with the real thing (live fire, on a safe course) and then doing it in front of a camera with blanks.

I’m kinda curious why you bother watching/posting Freddie W videos at all. I have small issues with them too (optics) but I’m able to enjoy them as part of the “dumb fun” category of free entertainment. If you’re just going to gripe about them (and drive traffic/viewership toward the object of your displeasure) then what’s the point? Filling your blog by constantly negging other people’s creative efforts seems counterproductive and trollish.

TL;DR: I dig your blog but change the fuckin’ record!

I watch freddiew and corridor digital’s vids because they occasionally come out with content that impresses me. When their videos fail to impress me then I make fun of them, that’s the mode I’m currently in. I might grow tired of doing that, or I might not…

  6. It’s a gun related time killer; nothing wrong with that. If mindless gun fun is useless, both freddie and ENDO are in the same boat.

  7. As a gun enthusiast, videographer and BF3 player, these videos are just plain dry in all aspects. There’s nothing funny, exceptionally cool, or anything that made me say wow. They’re just mediocre videos with a lot of resources to utilize.

  8. Yeah… unfortunately I agree.. I have been a Freddiew fan since he stared back in 2010, but here lately it just seems like they have been getting lazy. I used to enjoy them because he would make a cool video with hardly any resources, but now he has so many resources it’s like a low budget hollywood movie. If I wanted to see that I would just go the the theatre..
