Act Of Valor – Live Fire Behind The Scenes

The fact that this movie was filmed with DSLR cameras AND they used live fire basically puts it at the top of my list of movies to see.  I didn’t have time to go to the SHOT show this year, but I should have just flown in to see the advance screening of this movie which they would have let an industry guy like me into.  Oh well I guess I’ll have to wait until sometime after February 24th like the rest of you.

I don’t know how much LIVE fire they actually used, because in the above video it’s obvious that some of the scenes especially around the 1:13 mark are not live fire or the whole camera crew would have been dead.

If you haven’t seen the full trailer check it out – HERE

I’ve worked with PJ’s and USAF CCT’s way back when. The only thing I can say is that they are very extraordinarily competent. I never had a chance to work with SEALs or other special ops forces. I would be willing to stand in a room of bad guys and let them kick in the door without worrying.

When they took down OBL’s compound they used 12 rounds. And we know where two of them were used. ;-)

These guys were allowed to blow through ammo and get paid for it. Take a guess what they did? They blew through ammo and got paid for it. But in general you talk to an SF guy, let alone a Ranger or similar ammo — they rarely turn on full auto unless they have truck behind them with ammo. When 500rds of 5.56×45 NATO weighs about 15lbs. Humping that weight around is bad enough. Would you blow through it casually when you don’t know where your supplies are coming.

The only full auto in this clip came from machine guns, they were shooting their M4s on semi

Looks like a movie I’ll have to actually go see.

I remember this trailer from the BF3 promo actions a couple of months back.

This is such an awesome looking trailer! I checked out their Youtube page and there’s another one on there with them talking about the use of real seals. Here’s the link:

Looking forward to seeing this! :D
