.50 BMG Shot From A 12 Gauge Shotgun

The condescending gun store guys give it a go:

What I learned from this video:

I can officially use tape on a .50 BMG rounds and shoot them in break-open shotguns.

Look out geese!  God I hope no one tries this…

Thoughts?

They should have used the blue tape. That thing will outlive the roaches.

    >>>God I hope no one tries this…
    1. There is a lot of stupid people around.
    2. Barry just proved that 100% of the time it’s safe for the shooter to fire that round.

  2. Did any body see @ 1:41, the guy in full camo and his tactical, military issue, bowling pin. I just don’t like these guys…

And to add to the idiocy this video was totally pointless. No setup, no explanation, no nothing. These guys are obvious tools.

  3. I love how this follows the video they just made about them complaining about people using the wrong type of ammo and not following the owner’s manual.

    1. haha! just what I was thinking…

I love how the cameraman says “this would make a great booby-trap”. Just from my brief stint in law enforcement I learned that boobytraps are illegal (at least in my state) and are typically a class B felony. Great advice, Einstein.

haha yea just buckets of great advice in this video!

    2. If you have to use traps on humans you’re probably already in the mindset were either the law doesn’t exist or you “DGAF”

  5. Even though the fact that I learned a shotgun allows you to fire a .50 caliber bullet, which is really bad ass, those guys are total idiots.
They make videos where they complain about how stupid people are when it relates to weapon, and they keep whining that, basically, no customer is up to their level of safety/knowledge, and they act just like 12-year old kids who’d have find ammos in the attic… “Do you think we can fire this shit? Dunno, if I borrow my father’s shotgun we’ll give it a try… Why not shooting on water buckets ??”

    Morons…

  6. I find it hilarious you would call anyone condescending. Pot, meet kettle. Now let me watch that video…

News flash all 12 guage shot guns are now baned in California due to the ability to 50 BMG.

Details on the voluntary gun turn in program to follow….

    1. I love how you use 50 BMG as a verb here. Pure awesome if intentional.

“I’m bored, I’m going to the range to 50 BMG some targets.”

  8. My first thought was, “Yes, what I really want to do is use my 12 ga to fire rounds that don’t fit and cost several dollars per shot!” Why again, would one try this?

    1. because some people are fun.

  9. These videos are hard for me to watch. Remember the Peanuts/Charlie Brown cartoon specials where whenever an adult spoke all you heard was, “waa waa waa waa”? A similar thing happens to me when I watch these guys. It’s slightly different though – whenever they open their mouths and start talking all I hear is banjo music.

I thought these guys were cool when they did the vid about destroying the High Point a while back.

    Now… not so much.

  11. I really, really want to do it

  12. There is a level of stupidity that I just can’t stand. I had a friend and his cohorts play a game of “how low can you go?” with how few grains of powder to fire a .38. Not really dangerous. Just had to clear the barrel when they hit the “low”.

These jokers remind me of [a href = “http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079219/”]Going in Style [/a]

If you watched their other videos you would know that this video is part of their “Ammo-mixups” portion.
The segment where they try to highlight the importance of being sure you use the right ammo, and how just because a round easily chambers does not mean it is safe to fire.

  14. Reminds me of shooting .38 wadcutters out of a .38 S&W H&R top-break, just because I could. Not everything that’s good to know is good to do.

  15. I know it’s a legal check-my-ass, but by saying “DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME…DON’T DO IT” (I hate when he says it like that) doesn’t that violate the old adage about people doing things they’re expressly told not to do?

When you were a kid and your mom or dad or butler said “don’t eat sweets for breakfast”, didn’t you get the overwhelming urge to dig into a Snickers?

  16. they do have a company that has 12 ga rounds with the .50 cal projectile in it.

  17. just make a conversion sleave with 16.5 inches of rifling, the already do it for some pistol calibers.

I think you guys are missing an important point. In a “Red Dawn” scenario, if you had a 12 gauge single shot and NO 12 gauge ammo, but were able to acquire some 50 BMG rounds, don’t you think that what you learned from watching this video might have some value?

  20. I think they are thinking outside the box. From a survival aspect it is good to know what other kinds of ammo your weapon will fire if a need arises.

  21. My grandpa’s old 12 ga kicks bad enough as it is, I don’t thing Ill be trying a 50cal in it. It’s an old shotgun so I know the metal will holdup.

  22. I’ve found myself in ownership of a few rounds of .50BMG and want to know itself it is safe to fire from a 12 gauge shotgun without damaging the rifling (slug gun). Google is no use and the only videos I can find are these wackos.
