People will always need to be ruled. People for the most part are dumb as fuck. and need some kind of law and order. As fun as it would be to think that without governments nobody would fuck anybody over, it would soon devolve into anarchy.

U.S. citizens even have 2 layers of government, if you take the State and Federal Government.
I don’t really care about the royal family, I’m not British, but remember guys that Royalty is first and foremost a political organization, just like republic. It’s not just a lot of fancy clothes and jewels…
It has significant advantages, such as consistency through the years (the sovereign is supposed to be there for a long period of time, which can prevent contradictory decision every 4-5 years, depending on the elections in you country), the interests of the country are considered before the personal interests (the Queen/King will give the country to her/his children, so he better take care of it, and make sure he’ll educate them in a way that they’ll be somehow capable…).
Of course, this is what SHOULD happen in an ideal world, it can be perverted, just like any other system.

Mike called the royal family a “ridiculous charade” and I tool him to be protesting the tax sinkhole that is “the crown”; a deep and important cultural heritage worth preserving for some, and a highway robbery of millions for the benefit of the privileged few to others. I’m just pointing out that as long as governments exist to pick winners and losers, there will be winners on grand scale. Whether that’s a defense contractor who lives in a grand estate and soaks the American taxpayers by controlling the monopsonistic jet fighter market, or the Queen of England, some people will always game the system better than others.
All I know is I would be fucking pissed if I got woken up by that shit!

Somalia doesn’t have anarchy in the sense of a stateless society; they have simply reverted to tribal government following a military dictatorship that was overthrown inconclusively.
Anarchism is so often misrepresented, and this is a classic case. Don’t conflate a power vacuum (as in Somalia) where multiple parties vie for power, with a culture that methodically reduces the centralized state and pushes decision making down to the individual level.
