Tactical Intervention

From the creator of Counter-strike:

Looks fairly realistic I suppose.  Not as good as a lot of other new military type games, but still acceptable.

At 24 seconds you can even shoot someones dog… now THAT’S realism.  I was waiting for the next scene where they sprinkled crack on the dead body of the innocent guy that was with the dog, but that never happened.   Maybe you have to join the closed-beta test in March to try that out? :P

The URL is real suspicious looking –> http://ti.ogplanet.com/en/intro.og   .og?  wtf extension is that?  the ti subdomain threw me off when I first saw it too.   I assure you the site is legit so don’t worry about clicking the link.

Here’s some gameplay footage:

Looks actually better than I thought it would after seeing the trailer.   I’m sure some of you guys can’t wait to get your hands on this.

Thoughts?

  1. I’ll wait for CS:GO

  2. No thanks, it just looks like an updated Counter-Strike. Cosmetically, that is.
Besides that, doesn’t look like there’s anything changed from the parent game.

Seriously though, is iron sighting / using optics really so much to ask for?

    1. Exactly. No thanks, nothing new here.

And I love how that first gun he’s using sounds like a laser gun whenever he shoots it.

Not to mention that ring around the reticle crap, that would be REALLY annoying.

Does not look inviting at all. Next.

      1. With you on that

  3. are those optics functional? or are they just cosmetics?
i see you could peek around the corner in this game, nothing new thou.. rainbow six series have done that since a long time ago..

What I like about Minh Le, is that he doesn’t give a crap and just makes mods like this for games.

Here is his first mod for Q1 btw, just for comparison: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOwPcmcOSNY

  5. Uhm, the TLD in that address is “.com”, not “.og”. As in “ogplanet.com”. And given that the web address is OGplanet, I would assume “.og” is either some kind of proprietary file format to the company in question, or they just want their name in all of their web addresses.

And since the game is called Tactical Intervention, well, the “ti.” subdomain kind of follows…

Not had your coffee yet? ;)

  7. I’m with the general consensus on this one… I’m not impressed.

  8. You can shoot the dog? Like SWAT teams in real life do all the time?

  9. Wow, 1999 all over again.

    Matrix bullet time. Check.
    Half Life sound effects. Check.
NOT aiming down the sights. Check.

this game addresses a major problem that I and surely many of you face daily, it’s often very hard to find a seat on a busy train because of all the compressed gas canisters that are always laying around….

  11. the graphics engine they use looks like absolute crap.
this looks like something from 7-8 years ago.
    i’d rather play ArmA.
