Glock 17 With Trijicon RMR

I definitely need a RMR milled into my slide some day:

A quick run through of the criteria needed to be an operator:

✔Noise cancelling hearing protection
✔Oakley sunglasses
✔Scruffy Beard
✔Polo shirt with random operator companies you’ve probably never heard of
✔Thermal long sleeve under the polo shirt
✔Paracord bracelet
✔Weapon light during daylight ops
✔Suunto watch
✔Raven Concealment holster

Yea this guy is an operator.

You gotta love the sound in MichaelBarnes‘ videos too.

Its at slidelock…so maybe the mag has worn feed lips and it barfed a live round out the ejection port as the 2nd round in the mag got fed into the chamber.

Alls I got is the beard, and the ENDO Tactical T-Shirts!

Then just lots and lots of clothes from LL Bean!

MAINE OPERATOR!!!! CONTROL I HAVE EYES ON THE SWAMP DONKEY! I AM ADVANCING MY SKIDDER!!!

LOL that’s awesome.

Ross March 7, 2012 at 02:16 pm

He fired 16 rounds, then 15, so unless he topped off with a +1 for the first mag or didn’t load to full capacity he did lose a round when he racked the slide shut.

Beards make life more awesome for 100% of men. It’s science.

Poppy March 7, 2012 at 01:59 am

All the more reason as to why I want one!

Maybe if I rub some Rogaine on my face…

“There are two kinds of people who go around beardless: women and boys; and I am neither” – Greek proverb

“A woman with a beard looks like a man. A man without a beard looks like a woman” – Afghan proverb

“And the Lord adorned man, like the lions with a beard. And endowed him, as an attribute of manliness, with a hairy chest – a sign of strength and rule.” St. Clement of Alexandria

“He that hath a beard is more than a youth. He that hath no beard is less than a man.” – William Shakespeare

That’s just Afghan men’s excuse for banging little boys. Any gay pedophile could say the same thing.

You forgot to add “Blotchy, male pattern baldness”.

He body must be rejecting the hair hair on his head because it increased his drag coefficient.

Don’t be such a hater man.. That guy maybe sneaking up and operating near you one day and then who’d have the last laugh? C’mon man it takes TIME to become a good operator and nail the fashion why not display what you’ve learned? You think it’s easy or sumpin? HA!

Sean D Sorrentino March 7, 2012 at 06:24 am

Why does he have to shake the mag loose on reloads?

Reply

ENDO-Mike March 7, 2012 at 01:43 pm

Good question, I was thinking that too. The only time I’ve run into a similar issue is if I have a real death grip on the gun, but as soon as I loosen my grip it falls out as it should. It’s hard to tell what the issue is in the video though.

Looks like he’s sporting a Suunto watch, so that’s one in his favor. But, real operators wear government model Oakley M frames with the subdued “O” on them; that white “O” is just too bright!

Reply

ENDO-Mike March 7, 2012 at 01:44 pm

Excellent points Josh. You’re right the M frames are more operator. I’m actually glad you validated that for me because I have a new shirt coming out soon where a guy on it is rocking M frames. I’m going to add Suunto Watch to the list.

Ross March 7, 2012 at 01:50 pm

Oh damn, I might that one! M-Frames with Strike lenses are in my range bag.

Reply

Chrontius March 10, 2012 at 08:06 pm

I resemble that remark!

But that’s mostly because I lost my last pair of M-frames rescuing someone from a rip current, and the previous pair to an ill-timed hip check, and the GI frames are only $40 on eBay if you’re lucky.

Not just for operators – also, cheap bastards. :D

Operator fail. Where is the tactical head swivel after he engaged the target!

ps – totally OT, but was just going through some old vids and I really think you should replace that fat fuc* ‘johnnyb34435’ picture icon with this one…

In all seriousness. I tried the red dot on the pistol routine. It sucks. You don’t think about it, but the red dot sits a solid 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch higher than the irons do (depends on the sight and the milling). That means you have to hold the pistol 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch lower than usual. That may not sound like much, but it REALLY screws with your muscle memory. I kept bringing the gun to eye level, looking below the dot, then had to lower my head to see the sight. Watch the video and notice how low his head is. He’s holding the gun at a normal height and then dropping his chin into his cheat to see the dot. I ditched the system. Coulnd’t get used to it on one gun, while having irons on all my others.

That does sound very annoying. I’ll have to try one out before I buy to see if it bothers me

Vhyrus March 7, 2012 at 03:19 pm

Is it just me or does have a strange grip on that gun? It looks like he has to consciously keep his weak hand index finger out of the trigger guard while shooting.

Your’re right it does look strange. In rewatching the video I also added “Raven Concealment” holster to the operator criteria. I can’t believe I missed that one.

These videos are sweet, but I’m almost positive that none of the sound is original. All the sounds from every video are exactly the same, despite distance from the camera or the surrounding terrain.

Not hating, just saying…

I don’t know Tekkie.. I’m thinking he might have some sort of sweet External mic setup that he just sets near the shooter. The other sounds such as mag changes, trigger click, and slide sounds match up too good. Not to saying that couldn’t be done in a studio… but it sounds like a lot more work than it would be worth in this case. Here’s another vid where the sound lines up nicely and sounds good too – http://youtu.be/MliyaXUVeCg

Tekkie March 7, 2012 at 07:45 pm

It’s certainly possible, it’s just unlike any real-life gunfire audio I’ve ever heard. Particularly the rifle sounds just seem too crisp and ‘tinny’. It just reminds me of most video game rifle sounds I’ve heard; not an overwhelming blast, staccato rate of fire, absent echo. I’d be interested to see how he records the sound, but I’d still bet at least some post-processing goes into the audio.

I had my m&p milled for a trijicon rmr. It’s pretty awesome. The small change in sight height takes a little getting used to, but once you do it’s super fast. I was at a steel shootoff bay the other day and just knocking them down like it was nothing. One thing though, when you have the slide modified, you definitely have to have suppressor height sights installed so youdan see them through the red dot window.

What you do is, you draw the gun and index on the iron sights like usual until the dot appears and then that takes over. It sounds complicated, and maybe it doesn’t work for some people, but it works like a charm for me.

I don’t know about the RMR. Optics on a pistol is “cheating” IMHO. That’s why I
always shot shoot “limited”, never “open” in IPSC (back in the days before kids came
along). BUT his trigger control is awesome. Did anyone notice his front sight didn’t
waver when he snapped on an empty chamber at the end?

i love how you K-Mart mercenaries use the word operator and think buying gear makes you one.

Just keep buying thousands of dollars of gear and having wet dreams about defending yourselves in the Walmart parking lot.

I’d call you all faggots, but it’d be an insult to homosexuals.
