Slap-Fu – The Deadliest Of All Fu

Firearms for self defense? HA… not needed if you have these skills:

I was especially impressed with the part starting at 1:14 where they were putting holes in paper.

I predict James Yeager is going to start up Slaptical Defense, a tactical slap school where they teach this skill and put a photographer between the slapper and the receiver during all training exercises.  Classes will start at $450, and you’ll get a Slaptical Operator certificate when you complete all 10 courses.

Thoughts?

So, the idea is to use up all your available energy with quick ineffective movements to hopefully make the attacker giggle before he waits for you to run out of energy then kills you?

I never took martial arts as i didnt want to look like an uncoordinated retard, so this is something i could excel at. :)

I’ve practiced Kung fu and well I won’t comment on their chicken dance I will say they seem to have a nice location for practicing.

Is it like national retard day? Between this and the video above it I am definitely not high enough to understand this shit.

Probably effective against unarmed, untrained, not too tall, not too determined people.

Actually, the flurry-of-blows concept can be seen in some martial arts. Wing Tsun has chain punching for something similar. It does work, as Jeep already pointed out, against some people. Mostly people who do not really know how to a) get off the X, b) block weak-ass slaps, c) take a weak-ass slap and counter-punch.
I assume the latter would be devastating, since the first time you see the kid in black, he flinches even at his own blows when coming at the camera. I assume the practitioners lack a bit of experience in that regard.
Their partner slapping might actually have some merit in toughening the forearms, though, as do the 360s in Krav Maga.

This is a ‘tough crowd’ here. :-O

When I watched the video, I could only think that instead of a loud kiaaah as some karatekas shout out during the attack, I wonder if this crew releases a lispy but blood curdling “I’ll slap you…you bitch!” :)

The fact that this forum is a ‘tough crowd’, is the reason why I like to stop in here, and I especially enjoy the witty (but painfully factual) readers comments. If people don’t like brutally honest, this is probably the wrong cyber hood to hang out in. Anyhow, since I like a little banter, and I know this crowd is always looking for fresh meat, I am going to throw a commentary out that I wrote a while back for all the cyber ‘jackals’ (and I mean that in a good way) who lurk here to tear apart…or not.

Looks like this might be an older version of the French martial art Savate. The reason for the open handed slapping, palm, and wrist strikes is because it was developed during a time when France considered striking with a closed fist as being assault with a deadly weapon.

It may look damn silly, but it’s also pretty effective.

“Slaptical Operator”
*snerk*
Reminds me of a couple of 9-year-old girls getting slap-happy.

If that doesn’t work you could always stick your fingers down your throat.

Looks like the fat kids’ class in high school PE. Try that shit on some Krav Maga guys.

I can understand the concept.

A lot of martial arts use the same concept.

The only difference is in their execution. Quick blows to -vital- parts of the body don’t need to be strong, just accurate. Windmill punching a guy’s trachea will get results… Slapping him a ton of times in the nuts will also get results… Slapping his chest like a weeping damsel who’s been told that she’s been cheated on with her sister, that won’t get you anywhere but tired and beaten.

I see a lot of broken bones in these guys’ futures.
