Bond Skyfall Naomie Harris Shooting Range Training

Must be using blanks though.  The muzzle flash is huge, and there doesn’t appear to be any recoil on any of the firearms.

I tried to find some Bérénice Marlohe training footage (shes the other skyfall bond girl), but no luck.

I’m really looking so forward to Skyfall.  Anyone else?

If you look at 0:36 you can see a round sitting on the table, if it is a blank (which I agree they probably are) it looks like a ‘long’ blank, not a crimped style that the US Army uses.

Side note, why does her rifle have a carry handle and angled BUIS?

  3. Holes in the paper at 0:24… Maybe they’re not blanks? Muzzle flash could be due to dim lighting indoors.

This is most likely a military shooting complex. They probably have to shoot blank rifles at these places in the UK. They aren’t going to have a shooting range dedicated to only shooting blanks. That would be impractical.

  4. Blanks. The camera men are in front of her while she is shooting. They are not fixed cameras either, they move along with her and wobble a little. I doubt any professional camera man would go down a hot range.

Add on the muzzle sweeps of the trainer and there is no way professional people would allow that to happen with live ammo.

Not unless they work for James Yeager at tactical response: https://www.everydaynodaysoff.com/2012/03/08/tactical-response-still-puts-photographers-down-range/

      1. Never under estimate the willingness of people to do stupid stuff because a “professional” told them to.

I’d go downrange with a camera if I knew the people shooting. It’s a risk but hey… soldiers are all over the place in battle, in front and behind one another and being muzzle swept with rifles not on safe all the time. It’s not something I’d do all the time but if the shot or picture gained from it is unique and badass then I’d take the risk I’d say.

      1. Sorry. Anyone dumb enough to put themselves in front of a loaded gun while not on duty, should never be allowed around said guns. Period.

As for the high flash, they’re what is commonly called “Hollywood blanks”. They have more powder for the muzzle effect and increased recoil.

Well then it’s a good thing you’re not in charge of firearms for everyone huh? Considering literally thousands of soldiers and LE are constantly in front of loaded guns every time they operate. Fucktard.

Also what constitutes duty? A person recording footage is doing their job…

    3. Haha, James Yeager approved!

She says Walther PPK but it would appear that she is using a Sig P232

    1. It looks that way, but from a few angles it looks like a Walther to me and other angles a P232… The trigger guard seems more like a Walther, I just can’t tell…

    2. She says Walther PPK but it would appear that she is using a Sig P232

I would have given her the benefit of the doubt and assumed that she is able to read what is printed on the gun. If that’s not good enough though, here’s a frame of the video where you can see, at the rear of the slide, what appears to be the safety that the PPK has, which is absent on a P232.

Regardless of what she is calling her gun, i doubt she knows anything about it. so if her “trainer” told her she was shooting a GAU-8, she would tell us that beside the “machine guns” she was especially focussing on that handgun, the GAU-8 Avenger. And of course she’d smile while doing that.

Well, legally and technically they are machine guns.

  6. Honestly, I despise Daniel Craig’s acting, and the second one of his Bond abortions only goes to show why.

      yep

  7. It’s not a MIL range, it’s most likely Bapty’s range, they supply Armourers and Weapons to most of the Production houses across the UK.

You cannot allow someone without an S5 FAC in the UK to shoot a S5 weapon with live rounds, a semi-automatic assault rifle chambered in .308 or above is classed as S5. I also imagine what she is shooting has a blocked barrel (a steel X), this is SOP for Baptys and most other film armourers in the UK. It’s easier and it keeps the pencil pushers with there liberal thinking at bay.

Any UK MIL range that has agreed times for Civilian use can shoot .22 Semi and .308, .338 and .50 Bolt action provided there is a suitable size range for .50
