Aljazeera On Women Who Shoot

I don’t get that part where the lady shot the hog at 0:56 … first of all when she shouldered the rifle she was initially aiming at the one guys lower body.. then the other guy who was holding the live hog by it’s back legs steered it so she had a good shot.  Wtf was that?  Did they trap that hog or something, and why was it acting so subdued? I thought hogs were fighters.

The indoor range they showed toward the end of the video looked GHETTO.  I saw wheelbarrows, scrap wood, what looked like straw… I hope the ventilation in there is better than it looks.

Nice to see more women shooting, hopefully most are having fun while they practice. I’m sure there will always be a number of women that can’t stand guns, but feel they need to learn how to shoot for their own safety.

It’s common for them to stop fighting once you have their back legs. Don’t ask me why, just how we’ve always done it.

Perhaps it’s a warning to Arab countries that are leaning towards the west.

“Emancipate your women, and they’ll be arming themselves soon!”

Didn’t know hogs gave in when you got their legs. I don’t know anyone stupid enough to go for the hind legs of a wild hog either. Depends on what kind of wild hog it is. A feral pig (which the video seems to show) is not as big a challenge as a wild boar. Wouldn’t put my hands near either until it stopped spasming though.

Makes sense using semi-autos for hog hunting. Miss that first shot with a boltaction, and get charged by a wild boar? Goodbye and goodnight…

I’m pleased that this was relatively unbiased. Props to Al Jazeera for not being douches. Also Nathalie needs to hit me up. She’s hot. lololol

Mike, if they were using dogs to run the hogs then it likely didn’t fight because it was exhausted.

Will, Heath has it about right. Using catch dogs to pin the hog down till you can stab it or grab the legs to put it in a cage is common around here. Unlike a dog or cat, hogs cannot swivel backwards and bite.

Al’s correct, went hog hunting in TX last year and they had Dogo or Dojo dogs not sure the name but they looked like larger white pit bull like dogs that would chase, bit and pin even the biggest meanest hogs. I still prefer shooting them on the run or from a distance though.

Good publicity, but dumb video in my opinion. My girlfriend carries a S&W J frame, I think it’s good for women to carry/know firearms. A woman shooting a trapped hog and going all Ted Nugent on its ass just doesn’t do it for me I guess.

Mike, I’ve got to correct your initial post bro. That range was GHETTO AS FUCK! Looked like a crackhead basement.
