Obama AR-15 Lower Receiver Now A Reality

There was some buzz on the internet about this Photoshop I posted in back in 2009:

I don’t remember any company jumping on the bandwagon and actually getting them made in 2009.  Looks like Palmetto State Armory thought it would be a good idea to capitalize on this year’s upcoming November election so they are making some up like the mock-up pictured below:

I’m assuming it’s supposed to be Anti-Obama by the “NOBO12” part of it… but that’s the only giveaway that it isn’t meant to support Obama.  Kind of a fail if you ask me.  The original Photoshop got the point across better.

I really couldn’t care less about “custom” AR-15 lowers with dumb markings on them.  Seems like i’m in the minority on that opinion though, because every time someone says they are going to run a batch anything but “SAFE” and “FIRE” on it, people go nuts.

Thoughts?  Are you a sucker for custom/different fire selector lower receiver engravings?

I think it would be about as dumb as getting a “NOPE” tattoo. That gun will be around for a long time, but Obama will only be/not be the president for 4 years.

Palmetto will be under investigation for “death threats” in 3…2…

  3. Not sure about the crescent on the logo, if its meant to imply Obama is Muslim, the issue of his religion is stupid.

    1. It’s just a play on Obama’s campaign logo. The interior “hole” of the O in his campaign logo is supposed to be a rising sun, “a new day” hippy crap.

The moon, paired with the NO and YES WE CAN (vote no 2012, etc.) means the hippy’s day is over.

I wouldn’t waste my hard earned cash putting that losers face on the side of my expensive firearm.

But overall, sometimes I like custom lower recievers for AR15s. Though if I was gonna get one myself, I wouldn’t buy one like that, I’d have someone custom engrave one just for me.

The most he’s gonna be around is another 4 years, after that he’s nothing but a bad memory. A firearm can last generations, no need to hand down to your kids/grandkids some lame political joke they won’t even get.

  6. I don’t give a hoot about an Obama lower. Custom-requested markings, however … those can be a lot of fun. It’s one of the great things about the AR platform and fits right in with the level of uniqueness that can be achieved with all the other bits on the rifle.

Mine all say safe/fire – but my wife’s says blocker/jammer to fit the theme of the rifle. It’s all good.

More Anti Obama rhetoric… perfect. I agree with Burp, the religion issue is nonsense. One fairy tale is as good as another in my book. If you buy this lower you are going to look about as cool as that douche bag driving a 70’s era volvo with a Jimmy Carter bumper sicker on the back. I’m Disappointed in Palmetto for trying to make money from a cheap lasered gimmick insead of relying on their reputation for quality. The only thing that could make this worse is if it was “ZOMBIE GREEN WITH BLOOD SPLATTER AND REAL ZOMBIE OBAMA!”

someone could sell hoodie figure behind a podium paper targets, that would probably be worse.

The pirate themed one can be funny, but this, not so much.

The crescent moon thing needs to be replaced with a sickle and hammer.

  10. Only dumb fudds believe Obama will actually take away our guns. It seems only us non-conservative gun owners have any common-sense.

    1. There is no such thing as a non-conservative gun owner. Either you are liberal enough to believe everyone has a right to own a gun, or you aren’t.

  11. I got my Palmetto lower with the bullet pictograms, in case I forget how to read good, but I still want to do other things good too.

I’ve let a lot of people not familiar with ARs shoot it, and I simply tell them to check the safety, is it pointing to bullets, or no bullets. I’ve found it works a lot better than words to non-gun people.

I would like a lower with the SAFE and FIRE markings reversed, because practical jokes are awesome.

  13. I really like the old school SAFE-SEMI-AUTO, much more than the new fancy memes or jokes on selector switches; but sometimes I do like some graphics, like the new HERA ARMS lowers, for example.

  14. We put Obama’s name on the front of our Commie Obama hats, and they sell pretty well.
