Ted Nugent’s Gun Country

I’m surprised Discovery Channel would even touch this guy with a 10ft pole:

I don’t like how he long ago appointed himself as the spokesperson for gun lovers in America, and companies are continually jumping on board with that.   Entertaining enough guy, but I really have no use for his outspoken political rants.

The show starts October 10th, 2012 on Discovery Channel.

I hope the show contains lots of good slow motion shots, and footage of guns I can’t afford.  If it’s like that I’ll watch it, but if it’s jam packed with off the wall redneck style derp then I’ll pass.

Thoughts?

  1. Heres Hoping its like Mail Call used to be on the History Channel, Full of information on the history of the pieces and the statistical information, and less random hick blather.

    1. I LOVED THAT SHOW! Man, we need to bring it back, screw the Nuge, I want my spokesperson for gun lovers in America to be R. Lee Ermey! Long live Gunnery Sergeant Hartman!

Maybe Ted will buy that stylish ENDO AR15 jacket. I hear they where big sellers.

  3. Yeah, fuck this guy. He definitely does more harm than good. He is abrasive, polarizing, and combative.

  4. 10mm :D LOL

  5. I bleed red white and blue – Has been draft dodger.

  6. I want a gatling!

  7. Fuck Ted Nugent with a fucking rake. He needs to shut his fucking suck and stick to being a washed up guitar player.

  8. Ted is very articulate and knowledgeable about 2nd amendment freedoms, if you actually listen to him. Some can’t get past the fact that he shows up for interviews in camo and sleeveless shirts. Others are too busy posting profanities on the internet to actually listen.

He’s cheated on his wife, dodged the draft, and I’m sure many other things. But I believe he is second to none on knowledge of the 2nd Amendment.

  9. This looks like another attempt by discovery to capatilize on a certain market and making them look like idiots. well done.

They really need to stop using truck-driving, cammo-wearing, unshaven white trash in all these gun shows. Thank God for Top Shot where we see normal civilized gun aficionados.

Watch Ted handle this interview and tell me again how he doesn’t speak for you on the subject of gun rights.

Yea I’ve seen that. Now that you reminded me, I’m convinced Ted has two modes.

The two modes idea is a good way to describe it. Ted is living his dream- enough money to go on every hunting trip he wants, buy what he thinks are all the coolest firearms, and have pallets of ammo delivered to his ranch. I believe that part of the reason he can present himself as anti-drug is because he gets so amped up naturally with hobbies he enjoys, most obviously music and guns. This can help or hurt us, because when he puts this energy into interviews he can really rally a lot of people into getting more active in pro-gun, pro-conservation, pro-whatever freedom groups, but he can also cross the line and become what we see as too manic, saying some offensive stuff that makes it easier for the antis to stereotype us. This is mostly because he is in a different position which allows him to care less about their responses.

The thing is, the antis already stereotype against us, so at some level I really enjoy the grief Ted causes them when he shoots wild boars from a helicopter, or raffles off hunting trips to raise money for cystic fibrosis research. And when I get stuck hearing the typical liberal Hollywood actor crap about how gun owners enjoy eating babies, this guy’s antics help cheer me up.

  12. Perhaps Ted’s appearance actually helps our cause. If he shows up for an interview in a suit and tie, people would say “well Ted’s different, he’s not a typical hillbilly redneck gun-lover.” But he shows up looking like the steriotypical gun owner. Then the steriotypical redneck gun owner torches the interviewer with facts and figures which support his pro-gun stance.

    Food for thought.

  13. Here’s an idea, how about responsible gun owners stop shitting on other responsible gun owners. Who cares how he dresses? This is America dammit! A man can wear whatever he wants.
