12 Year Old Oklahoma Girl Shoots Home Invader

Saves her own life by keeping her cool and grabbing her mom’s gun to handle business:

Full story – News9

It’s a real shame when these stories end with “he was released from the hospital and taken to jail”.  Real class act that guy… 2011 arrest for abducting a retarded 17 year old girl.  *smh*

What’s the standard anti-gun response to an event like this? Should that girl have just hid in the closet waiting to be raped or murdered?

I don’t know why sometimes the firearm used is such a big secret.  Would it have killed them to say the make / model, or is it some sort of liability issue because the girl is only 12?  Are they worried about 12 year-olds across the country being influenced and acquiring that exact handgun?

Thoughts?

  1. I too have often wondered why they don’t ever mention the make or model. My only conclusion is that even if the story itself is pro-2A, the media source is anti-2A and don’t want to promote the gun industry or specific manufacturer.

  2. Awesome!! I could never shoot someone in my house through a door though… I only carry magsafe’s in my house so no one gets shot unintentially. Congrats to that girl for saving her own life!

  3. I think they don’t mention the model of the gun because it’s not the point. It’s a registered gun, legally purchased and all. Who (aside from gun nuts) really cares? When the police stops someone escaping on the highway, nobody asks for the car model of the thief…

I agree though, that if the gun had been a full auto VZ-61 Skorpion, they would have spent a little more time on the gun itself… just like if the guy in my example above had been driving a Lamborghini.

  4. Oh, and ATTAGIRL !!!

Who can tell your home is not safer when you have a gun?

If it had been a full auto VZ-61 Skorpion, I don’t think this would have ended with the guy in jail…

  6. It is Oklahoma so the gun wasn’t registered. The Sooner state is still free and doesn’t do such things. You can see a better video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPfz7ENFUB0. They interview the girl and show the closet door with the hole in it. They mention that the bullet was removed from the wall, so the shot went through and through and lodged in a wall.

  7. The only time I’ve seen the media reveal that a kid defended himself from a home invader using an eeeevil AR15, was when his father was a cop and it was his. I doubt that would have been mentioned if his dad was a typical white collar.

  8. Bravo child. She did everything right AND stayed calm and collected. Bravo.

  9. She used a Glock in .40 S&W. I’m not sure exactly what .40 cal model though…

And this is why one should have a gun and know how to use it. At the very least you can tell someone else how to use it should they need it. ^Case in point.

It goes without saying that the Brady Bunch would rather she was raped and had her throat slit while waiting for the police to arrive.

I guarantee the anti-gun zealots like Stephen Colbert won’t report this story on any of their shows.

Would it make you happy if the mom said “My girl used a Glock 23 with Horady Critical Defense.”

Frankly i don’t care, I’m just glad the girl is alive and ok. She should be a hero at her school.

  12. I rate her right up there with the Oklahoma widow Sarah McKinley.

  13. Awesome. I hope that this happens to EVERY intruder that has the balls to go into someone else’s home without permission. If an intruder came into my home, they’re getting as many JHPs required for them to stop their attack.

…on the other hand, America is the only country or one the very select few liberal countries where a burglar can sue the homeowner for hurting themselves while committing the burglary. I remember a case a few years back when a guy fell through the ceiling into the living room and broke his leg. He then turned around and sued he homeowner and WON!!!! What a crock of shit!!

    1. It depends on the state. For example Ohio’s Castle doctrine law applies to both homes and vehicles. It has a chunk that says the criminal and family can’t sue for you shooting his butt. Note that if there is an innocent bystander that would be hit, you are still liable.

Sec 2307.60 (B) (2) Recovery on a claim for relief in a tort action is barred to any person or the person’s legal representative if the any of the following apply:

Sec 2307.60 (B) (2) (c) The person suffered the injury or loss for which relief is claimed in the tort action as a proximate result of the victim of conduct that, if prosecuted, would constitute a felony, a misdemeanor that is an offense of violence, an attempt to commit a felony, or an attempt to commit a misdemeanor that is an offense of violence acting against the person in self-defense, defense of another, or defense of the victim’s residence, regardless of whether the person has been convicted of or pleaded guilty to or has been charged with committing the felony, the misdemeanor, or the attempt to commit the felony or misdemeanor. Division (B)(2)(c) of this section does not apply if the person who suffered the injury or loss, at the time of the victim’s act of self-defense, defense of another, or defense of residence, was an innocent bystander who had no connection with the underlying conduct that prompted the victim’s exercise of self-defense, defense of another, or defense of residence.

  14. And YES, anyone in my house without permission is ATTACKING me and I’m scared for my life.lol
