A new show on the discovery channel:
If the world as you know it falls apart, will you rise up to fight? Discovery Channel’s new one-hour documentary follows citizen militia, survival and prepper groups in Arizona, Florida and Indiana who are preparing for the worst.
I’ll have to say I was quite disappointed no one had an Unorganized Milita hat on. Oh well, I’m sure at least one of them owns one, and wears it when they are in casual mode.
The show premiered on Wednesday October 24th, Did anyone catch it? If so, how was it?

When I saw this, with the dude who was constantly being corrected (Holding a WASR, I think), it kinda reflects on the negative aspect of the militia-prepper mentality/movement: All that gear; no common sense. You cannot buy yourself into an operator.
It was disturbing watching the untrained, think that they are able to train people to do what takes weeks, months & years for the military, police, etc to do safely. I think they where all accidents waiting to happen.
I would feel safer on my own than with them!

Not true Jay, there are good common-sense, sane-minded, and tactically sound militias, you just have to dig around to find them (and television wont show them). Most regular armies of the world are shit, so of course there will be a lot of shit militias as well, but some can certainly hold their own. If done correctly, you can have private militias that are better and faster than some regular infantry (without the suicidal ROE’s that regulars are subjected to either).
Lol guys like this are exactly why I buy guns and ammo. Only thing worse than the give government saying we’re here to help is a bunch of wanna be g.i. Joes in army surplus gear holding pos parts kit ak’s.

The media has turned EVERYTHING into Professional Wrestling … its all staged and its all fake. I have worked with a producer on some of these shows,… everything is scripted beforehand. This show is about as real as Harry Potter… sad thing is that most of America is becoming DUMBER and DUMBER and believes this Honey Boo Boo nonsense.
I agree, its edited to not slightly resemble what happened but what the producers had in mind to start with.
But its cheaper to follow groups of people around than it is to make a show that needs sets and writers and, god forbid, researchers.
This crap had me in stitches. The fat ass Colonal puts on his fat ass sniper suite to sneak up on these losers to “Make sure these guys can guard me.”. Yes….because I am sure they are all in this “Militia” to guard your fat ass.
In summary, this is just a bunch of rejects playing weekend warrior with real guns and live ammo. It’s only a matter of time before someone gets shot in “training”.
I watched one cringeworthy episode the other night. They were practicing leap frogging with live fire, buckyearger would be proud.
It was horrific, they always seem to find the wannbe’s and washouts. Who want to be Operators. I don’t stance my self as a prepper or any type of Watchman. But I do feel that I could be combat effective if need, these fellas look pretty unfit and untrained.
If the world does go to hell, I’ll just hide out and ride out til the idiots are done playing “King of the Shitheads”. Then I’ll link up w the common sense folks w working central nervous systems.
“Derp” doesn’t begin to describe the poor morons featured. Just goes to show that Hollywood wants to find the poorest specimens who like guns, prepping, etc to paint all such people with a broad brush. This was slightly entertaining, but mostly scary.
Before watching this I completely expected some Vigilant Spectre DERP. My expectations where far exceeded!
