Lawyer Considers Signing Buck Yeager’s Duel Contract

I’m glad she came to her senses.  The article is hilarious, I pasted an excerpt below, but you should really read the whole thing:

And, contrary to popular belief, Tennessee isn’t going to sit back, sipping moonshine through the gap where their front teeth used to be, and let Uncle Jim get away with shooting someone for calling him a coward. If members of rival gangs make a contract to duel and one prevails, the clear result is that the winner gets to do time in prison for homicide or attempted homicide (depending on your definition of “winning”). Same deal with The Yeagermeister. To argue that the state is going to find itself in the harsh spotlight of internet scrutiny and do nothing about one of their residents shooting at an internet troll would be crazy. Especially a tactical law enforcement firearms trainer who has decided to respond to petty name-calling by murdering a civilian.

Read the whole article over at JD Oasis.  The author goes by @Spyarchive on twitter.

James-Yeager-Buck-YSL-ParodyIf you haven’t been keeping up with the whole Buck Yeager going off the deep end debacle, you can catch up HERE and HERE.  Make sure you read the comments, because they chronicle what was happening on YouTube at the time, and are pretty damn funny.

To date no one wants to sign Buck Yeager’s contract (not that I blame them).  I’ve been getting emails from a couple guys who have been exchanging emails with Yeager, and I can smell the testosterone through the screen… shit is going to get real if someone shows up and surprises him by the sound of it.

Thoughts?

So he is a certified instructor. Has anyone thought to write letters to these bodies that give him their endorsement?

Reply

overkill556x45 December 13, 2012 at 05:29 am

That would be AWESOME if he got his endorsements yanked. I’m honestly shocked that Clint Smith hasn’t cancelled him as a guest instructor and then thoroughly disavowed him for his most recent rash of “Imma keeel youuuu!” behavior. Maybe after work I’ll write a pleasant letter to Mr. Smith (I think very highly of Clint Smith). If he doesn’t listen, I’ll then threaten to “break his fucking back”, then call him a homo, then send him a contract asking for a duel.

That’s really the problem with him. He won’t admit it was a bad a idea to threaten to kill some people on the Internet that he’s never met. Assuming of course he actually knows he was wrong. It’s also likely he only regrets that people called him out on it. Kinda like when convicts say their only regret was getting caught.

And oh how awesome it would be to see his credentials revoked and his career diminished due to his obvious lack of maturity and his recklessness.

Here’s one of the best summaries of the events that really stand out from the AAR (Credit to TheBishopp):

Begin Quote

Have you read the official AAR? It says right in it that he put himself in a position where he could not engage the enemy (coincidentally that is also the position where they could not engage him).

” James Yeager was in a location at the median where he could not engage enemy forces as he did no have a line of fire from his location.”

Have you read Yeager’s AAR?

Regarding why he retreated to the median:

“I felt Mark coming out of the rear door so I began the next phase of our
S.O.P. which is getting away from the car (getting off the “X”) because
people tend to shoot at cars and rifles easily penetrate them. I turned and
ran toward the median which was about 40 feet to the edge. I got face down
on the edge of the asphalt, took a firing position, and yelled “MOVE!” to
Mark.”

Please point out to me where he says he did so to give “Mark” the better position?

Regarding what he was able to see of the enemy from the median:

“I pulled my rifle to my cheek, looked through my
EOTech again, scanned the roof tops and almost shot some clothes hanging
off a TV antenna to dry. Nobody was there. I scanned the windows of the
houses. I KNEW I heard a PKM and I KNEW the PKM was hitting us well and was
most likely in a static position. I scanned the Hescos again. Nothing.
“Where the **** is it?” I wondered as I searched. I began aiming between
the windows of the houses and shooting the solid brick walls. Although I
didn’t know who I needed to kill I knew they were that direction
“somewhere”. I felt useless but I thought I might be able to keep their
heads down.”

Should we break down his personal AAR even more?

Reading it makes me “lol”. It’s part dramatic story (who taught this guy how to do a report?) and part marketing tool.

“After I went through my O.O.D.A. Loop (please search Google for OODA
Loop and Col. John Boyd for more info)”…

“As I shot from the rear of the car I wanted to kill the terrorists but
nobody had told me the direction (I figured that one out on my own),
description, or distance. I fired because I have been trained to fire when
someone is shooting at me. If I couldn’t make hits I was sure going to make
noise.’ – Apparently he didn’t figure it out on his own because in his report he says he has no idea where the fire was actually coming from.

“I now realize it was merely rounds from our team being shot without using the sights. At the time I didn’t know and because there were houses directly beyond that it was the safest place for me to shoot. I shot about 6-10 aimed rounds into the barriers utilizing my EOTech weapon sight.” – Apparently houses make for excellent “safe” backstops I am certainly glad that he was utilizing his “EOTech weapons sight” to shoot into barriers rather than just firing blindly like his “teammates” lol.

““****!” I thought to myself. I had forgotten to deploy a smoke grenade.
When Mark resumed firing I ripped it out of the pouch, peeled off the
100mph tape, put the spoon in the palm of my hand, straightened the ends of
the pin out, and pulled the ring. I kept thinking about my Instructor
course for and teaching the proper deployment of flashbangs, smoke, and CS.
My mind was racing. I forced myself to focus. ” – O.M.G.

LOL. Cop for twelve years and a Chief of Police and this is how he writes a report? Who writes like this professionally? By no means were my reports perfect, but if I turned in something like this I would be rewriting it and it most likely would be used as a “how not to write a report” example. Folks would be laughing about it for years.

Honestly, to me, reading it, it sounds like a lot of embellishments and BS. You put it next to the company AAR and it looks even worse.

End Quote.

dave w December 13, 2012 at 11:14 pm

matt December 13, 2012 at 11:59 pm

Yeah I’ve read it too, he shot up some innocent civilians house, and then shot at a car which was traveling down the same road he was. Neither had bad guys in them. No wonder the Iraqis hate us.

Reply

matt December 14, 2012 at 12:01 am

My favorite line was “If I couldn’t make hits I was sure going to make noise.”, because when you have limited ammo the best thing you can do is use your rifle as a noisemaker.

Although this is good for a laugh it does have a serious side to it. His previous video “Active Shooter” made it obvious this guy has some problems, no top trainers I’ve heard of encourage being the hero in a shooting situation. It goes without saying among serious gun toter’s if the situation comes up you take care of it if you can, professionals just don’t need to glorify it.

If he was just some guy spouting off crap on the internet it wouldn’t be so serious but people are paying him for training and leave with who knows what in their heads. I hope some of the top tier trainers will comment on Yeager’s video’s and antics, self police if you will, I think it’s needed to avoid the train wreck that is coming up quick.

Reply

elephantrider December 14, 2012 at 04:37 am

I’m pretty sure that after this round of Yeager internet antics he will be persona non grata at most, if not all, reputable firearms training schools and travelling instructor’s courses. Would you want to be associated with or considered responsible for teaching this guy anything? I know he likes going to other high profile instructor’s courses so he can jack some of their noteriety. Hopefully those days are over.
