Asshole Proofing The Magpul PMag For A Good Cause

SKD Tactical takes a Cheaper Than Dirt style approach, but for a good cause:

(Source)

First off let me say I appreciate the humor.  As I mentioned in the past, not enough companies have a sense of humor.  Secondly, what a selfless thing for them to do… donating $24.25 to the NRA or the Special Operations Warrior Foundation?!?!  Whoever owns SKD tactical are good people in my book.

Make sure you check out the SKD Tactical website.  They have a lot of awesome gear!   I’m definitely adding them to my bookmarks as a place to check next time I need something.

Thoughts?

I like it

This. SKD is good to go.

Vanguard Armament December 22, 2012 at 02:11 am

I’ve been trying to think of how companies should handle this new increase in demand. Any company that keeps their original pricing will end up with a shortage in supply, but a company that jacks up their price in response is an asshole. But SKD does it right!

elephantrider December 22, 2012 at 02:43 am

Totally agree that SKD did a good thing. Hopefully the cash to the NRA will do some good for all the gun owners and shooters out there. I think it would be good for other retailers will follow their lead.

Down&OutInCA December 22, 2012 at 02:14 am

SKD is good to go in my book. Always a quick response when I’ve shot them an email about availability or any gear questions. They really have their act together it seems compared to CTD and SG.

ShitHead December 22, 2012 at 02:41 am

How about they support the people in the gun community by keeping their prices low? Or how about keeping it only $10 over listing and donating the 10 not 25 fucking dollars. I disagree with this practice, because it’s just saying “yea you’re going to pay the same price, not because we have a business to run, just because we fucking can”. And that to me is being a bigger asshole than anyone else.

ENDO-Mike December 22, 2012 at 02:44 am

I believe they set the price where they did because any less and people would probably still consider flipping them for a profit.

ShitHead December 22, 2012 at 03:56 am

Then let those people do that. Why does what they do influence what these guys are doing? Even if 50% of the people get them to sell them for a profit, who cares? The other 50 should get the product at a reasonable price.

People have forgotten their power in the market place. We should demand cheaper prices and higher quality and accept nothing less.

Jon December 22, 2012 at 05:11 am

-People have forgotten their power in the market place. We should demand cheaper prices and higher quality and accept nothing less.

Wow, the prices were low, and as far as PMags go the quality is high. The current market is under very heavy demand this is the best solution I’ve seen so far. Regardless, you have the power if you don’t like it don’t support them. But no one wants to hear you bitch. Also no the other 50% wouldn’t get them at a reasonable price because the flippers literally buy the entire freaking stock up. I think you are one of those people and are just pissed because they cock-blocked you.

ShitHead December 22, 2012 at 12:39 pm

Limit 2 per customer.

DaveP. December 22, 2012 at 07:38 am

You know what they call “demanding lower prices”?
NOT BUYING SOMETHING.

And hey, what’re you doing right now?

I’m sure they’ll drop that price any old time now…

elephantrider December 22, 2012 at 02:53 am

Wow talk about living up to your name ‘ShitHead.’ Either the prices are going to be high, or the product extremly scarce as long as the demand is as high as it is. Prices will only come down once supply catches up to demand. That’s just economics. In the mean time SKD is putting the focus back on the political fight that is coming soon, and hopefully “asshole proofing” everyone’s magazines. Don’t like the price or supporting the NRA, don’t play the game.

matt December 22, 2012 at 04:22 am

Wow, so they’re going to donate to a antiquated ‘gun owners rights’ group which has remained silent on a AWB ban, or to a group which provides welfare to a subset of the population which is all ready on the dole. Yet another reason why I buy my stuff from MidwayUSA.

Matt December 22, 2012 at 09:16 am

What? NRA released their statement and had a press conference yesterday (or the day before, can’t remember).

Kevin December 22, 2012 at 09:40 am

Yeah, but they didn’t really make any move against the incoming attack on our gun rights, they just went on about how we need armed guards in schools. They need to kick up the Anti-ban movement ASAP.

elephantrider December 22, 2012 at 11:05 pm

matt,
You fucking trollish turd, please approch the first current or former SOC member that you can find and inform them that they and their familes are or were on “the Dole.” People in the military generally work very hard for the money they earn, they do not receive welfare.

SittingDown December 23, 2012 at 12:17 am
matt December 24, 2012 at 02:06 am

If military members are so hard working, why is it they are so disproportionately represented in the homeless population? And working doesnt mean they arent on welfare. The jobs program during the great depression was a public welfare program. And the bailouts the banks got was a form of corporate welfare even though they were working the entire time.

Matt December 22, 2012 at 09:15 am

In order to keep inventory in stock, prices should rise to meet demand, but they just limited the number you can purchase, which is nearly as good.

SKD’s been a high-speed shop for a while now. Best prices for great goods.

Kevin December 22, 2012 at 09:39 am

I’ve always believed especially when working as a company delivering either a product, or service; honesty is always best practice. I would gladly buy these.

dave w December 22, 2012 at 10:02 am

I like this. At least you know it isnt going to some guy who is planning to leave it in a box for a year and wait for the prices to go up.
Of course, if they go the way of all other countries then whatever they ban will be illegal and you will be sitting on a stockpile of junk.

K December 22, 2012 at 12:06 pm

I think I’ll buy some p-mags.

mlk18 December 22, 2012 at 12:20 pm

I have purchased stuff from them before and was always pleased. This will just ensure that they get more of my money in the future. Kudos SKD Tac!

NKato December 22, 2012 at 01:11 pm

The NRA really made an idiotic statement in the wake of those shootings. Instead of pointing at mental health, they blamed the “usual suspects”. (I’m a gamer, and I take offense to what the NRA said.)

I honestly would rather see that money go to the Special Forces Warrior Foundation.

ar10308 December 22, 2012 at 09:29 pm

No one’s going to do shit to video games. They can’t.
What the NRA did is called “Deflection”. They deflected the argument and blamed someone else. And who makes violent movies and video games? Liberals who want to ban guns. So, win-win.

Church December 22, 2012 at 02:39 pm

Wow! Simply awesome!!

SittingDown December 22, 2012 at 06:31 pm

LOL. And I thought SCAR 17S magazines were expensive. I apologize to FNH.

Skyler December 22, 2012 at 09:20 pm

People are fucking idiots. Confirmed.

cc19 December 23, 2012 at 01:03 am

Sold, for the buy it now price of $7,995.00. LOL!

Greg December 23, 2012 at 01:04 am

That is simply stunning. What in the hell would possess someone to pay that?

SittingDown December 23, 2012 at 01:10 am

My guess is fear. I wouldn’t pay that if they loaded themselves.

Greg December 23, 2012 at 09:17 am

If they are trying to flip them they will need $50 a mag to even break even.

Steve December 26, 2012 at 11:28 pm

What retailers need to remember is that one day this buying frenzy will be over (Due to partisan gridlock, we all know nothing will happen on the federal level).

Consumers will remember what retailers treated them right, and what retailers took advantage of the situation. Money will be spent accordingly. I’m confident some retailers will go out of business due to short sighted profit taking.

Tom January 14, 2013 at 02:38 am

Gun control is using both hands.

I bet if Feinstein was getting shot at, she’d be cursing like a sailor and begging her protection detail to shoot back. These hypocrites piss me off. Self serving bureaucrats!!!

F. Flinstone January 27, 2013 at 12:09 am

There is not going to be any gun or magazine bans anytime soon. The people we elected to go to D.C. may be spineless weasels but they aren’t stupid. There well aware that there is too much 2nd amendment support in this country. Any elected official that would vote for any gun ban knows they won’t be in office after the 2014 elections. If Obama thought he could have banned anything with an executive order he would have tried it. The uber liberal politicians in Illinois introduced a bill to ban assault rifles in the lame-duck session and it had almost zero support. Everyone should take a Breath.
