Why Ban High Capacity Magazines?

MrColionNoir Takes a look:

When I saw the words “High Capacity” in the title I immediately checked the YouTube comments to see how many people were yelling at him for calling regular capacity “High Capacity”… turns out I didn’t see any haha.

My thoughts exactly on that “magic number” of 10 rounds… I’d love to hear the logic behind that number.

LOL “David Gregory wears makeup and has a spray on tan, and he was able to get his hands on an illegal magazine, so how hard to you think it would be for Pookie, Billy, Wid(?) and Jesus to get their hands on one if they wanted to?”

On thing I wonder, is have these people that are pushing for 10 round magazines never heard of reloading?  Or is the next logical step just to make it harder to reload, such as the ridiculous California bullet button everywhere?

Thoughts?

  1. Thats the thing I found most humorous about the “High Capacity Magazines” most of what is getting labled as “High Capacity” is actually “Standard Capacity” for Civilian, Law enforcement, and Military Use. Who passed the mandate that anything over 10 is “High”? If its so easy to change the perception of what is “high capacity” and what is “Standard” whats to stop them from changing that limit to “Over 5 rounds is a ‘High Capacity’ Magazine” or to “One Round Magazine”.

  2. DiFi’s ban calls for outlawing the bullet button.

  3. Why not make it six? That’s what most revolvers have and they worked for a long time. But of course that doesn’t consider that there are millions of 30 round AR-15 mags that have been bought, and exist in civilian hands already.

  4. Keep up the fight man I stand with you 100%

  5. 15? WTF? Does he not carry with a 16th in the chamber? Does he do that fake Israeli nonsense? Does he deliberately not add another round to the magazine after he chamber’s a round? We call that preparing for duty carry.

    1. you sure inferred alot from the 5 second blurb he talks about his glock 19.

  6. MCN, an approach of the gun grabbers would be that “with all those extra bullets, you’re creating more liability by carelessly causing a bloodbath!” TO which we’d say, “oh, you mean like Bloomberg’s cops who created a bloodbath at the Empire State Bldg who hit 9 innocent people?” http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/25/empire-state-building-shooting-nypd-bullets-shot-all-nine_n_1830007.html

How many times does a lawful concealed carrier hit innocents? How many times has a concealed carrier been careful enough not to employ his gun (unlike the NYPD) when it just wasn’t safe enough?

    Cops 0, CCW holders 1.

    1. Then there was this recommended video that came up after your video ended.

They were using Airsoft guns to do an armed robbery of a Dollar General. One of the robbers died from a CCW holder. You can tell the reporter was trying to condemn the CCW holder for shooting. I’m sorry — even with an orange ring, in a non-exercise environment, I’m going to fire.

The people that want to ban weapons and restrict magazine capacity are the same people who think the death penalty is bad and would rather hand out life sentences. Prison is a joke. Inmates are living better lives than the families of their victims. Im sick and tired of seeing commercials and hearing adds about kids starving and suffering in the US. When is the last time you heard about an inmate starving to death?……….

  9. The 10 round thing came from Bill Ruger. It was a suggestion made back in the days of the first AWB. Ruger had no plans for building a modern sporting rifle and therefore was more in line with compromise than many manufacturers were. The left trumpeted the fact that they had a Mfg. willing to work with them and went with the 10 round magic number for mag limits. Also, it had a lot to do with the semi-auto pistols around, 10 rounds would fit in the magazine without much adaptation or redesign.

  10. I seem to remember that I never saw Josey Wales reload a gun. He seemed to have thought a head of time about stopping to reload any gun and how that might not be the quickest alternative. Now what was the special technique he used when he fired all 6 shots in a revolver….. hmmm…. oh yeh, he just grabbed another revolver.

  11. I like the hat, Mr.ColionNoir. I’m going to have to get one.
