Chris Costa Tears A Target A New One With An M60

No sharks were jumped in the making of this video:

homer-jump-sharkYeah I’ve been making fun of Chris Costa ever since he did that ridiculous Zombie shit, and started pushing tactical arm tape.  You don’t need to try and justify those two things to me because it will fall on deaf ears.  It’s all in good fun though, he seems like a good guy just trying to make a living.  If he can jump the occasional shark, count the money, and still get a good night’s sleep then all the power too him.

Really? Gonna thumb over bore an M60?

DANGER CLOSE February 15, 2013 at 02:27 am

does he HAVE to REALLY roll every weapon to the side to CHECK the ejection port and then over to the other side. looks like a bad habit / training scar to me. we should call that the COSTA-ROLL

hey costa, it’s belt fed.

probably muscle memory.

Costa and his robot dance-esque needless weapon rolling, hyper extended support arm, and super aggressive leg position are gay as f__k. Here’s to hoping this guy slowly fades into tactical irrelavance.

Haters gonna hate; playas gonna play. Costa ran that M60 like a BOSS!
His beard alone can outshoot most people.

Costa is Costa. If his techniques help you be a better operator, marksman or whatever, then good. If not, then take em’ with a grain of salt and keep it moving.

Completely. I learned a lot from his videos. I won’t do something unless I see the benefit. I don’t quite lock the arms out but I can understand the science behind getting your arm out far over the barrel to help mitigate muzzle rise.

Was the arm tape zombie bite resistant?

I find some of these comments hilarious, have you ever run a M60 like that? He’s doing what it takes to put rounds down range and what works for him may not work for you.

The army considered the M60 to me a crew served weapon, assigned to a two man team. When it was picked up by the SEALs as the M60E4/Mk43 (which is what Costa is using) it was considered an individual use weapon. Using the M60 more like a rifle than a stationary position supressive fire weapon requires different tactics, which Costa (I believe) is demonstrating. The thing that I like about this video (watching it out of context) is how it shows that the fundamentals are universal. Get behind the gun, control the grip, check for malfunction. It doesn’t matter if its a 5.56 SBR or a 7.62 belt-fed. You practice the funamentals and they work.

But my absolute FAVORITE thing about Chris Costa, he was in the Coast Guard. All the elite military units in the world, and the guy that schools them all was Coast Guard.

elephantrider February 16, 2013 at 10:47 am

CC does not school elite units atound the world, nor does he do anything they can’t figure out for themselves. I see him as a guy who merely repackages other trainers/organizations training by putting his own little spin on things. I’ve been to one of his classes. He is a good shooter, but not a fantastic teacher. He just has this big personality cult, fanboy following, or whatever you want to call it around him. There is a scale model/action figure of him for f*&ks sake. He seems like a guy who really digs all the attention he gets and craves more.

Stop Lying, you know you wanna fetch the 2 week old sack cheese off of Costa’s budging package!

ManBeerOwl February 16, 2013 at 09:30 am

Chris Costa can go ahead and make a gay porno featuring zombies and a giant beard wrapped in tape and it still wouldn’t take away from the simple fact that the man knows his trade and can run a gun like a friggin’ boss.

Ben February 16, 2013 at 03:32 pm

The guy is funny and an interesting personality, plus he can shoot real nice… Stop being bitter douchebags…

Ross February 16, 2013 at 10:27 pm

Seriously guys.

I’ve been to classes from MANY different instructors. Chris’ classes are still my favorite.
