Interesting enough experiment, but the outcome wasn’t cool at all. I like this DemolitionRanch guy though… he definitely has some awesome videos from the past you should check out, and I’m sure there are lots more to come in the future.

Aaaaaand a Fate/stay night reference. I knew I liked you guys for a reason.
As a kid, I used a BB gun to go and set off 12GA shotgun shells. Just put the barrel of the BB gun up to the 12GA shell and get ready for a huge bang.
My guess is that the 22LR went so fast that it pushed the primer and some of the powder out of the other end of the shell so fast that it didn’t have time to burn within the shell.
Sounds like a DIY version of Mythbusters.
Anti-climatic, perhaps, but an interesting experiment. It might be interesting to see the same thing done with a lower velocity round like a 22 short or even a BB gun like Aaron mentioned above.
Good idea, but like 1389AD said, I’m sure the bullet was traveling too fast.
It’s about as lively as throwing bullets into a fire..a little fizzle and popping and you just wasted ammo.
I wonder what would happen if he had the shell mounted in an “12 gauge” pipe?
Did this with my pellet gun when I was a kid… It flew back at me and my buddies really quick like.
