Dry Fire Practice – Good For Ammo Droughts If Nothing Else

Every once and a while you might learn something from this blog:

Pictogram Fire Selector Switch T-ShirtI’m not going to lie, when you learn something here chances are it will be accident because someone doing the teaching has one of my company’s t-shirts on.  Such is the case here :P  Cory is sporting his trademark tightly manicured operator AF facial hair and the Pictogram Fire Selector Switch t-shirt… a deadly combo.

Cory-And-Erica-Punching-Bag-Glock-BeatingNo word on whether Erika practices her heavy bag beatings with a dry fire pistol.  I kid… I kid.  Cory and Erika are good people, who have also obviously forgiven me for poking fun at them in the past.  They keep the videos really pro now, but nothing is off limits with me so I’m keeping an eye on them. :P

They run a training school (Range Time) out of Lewis Indiana if you’re looking for some instruction.

Thoughts?

  1. Wow thanks for posting this! Not so much for the video, but i didn’t realize I had a training school a couple hours away from where I go to college, definitely going to be taking some of their classes!

    Thanks ENDO!

good vid. saw it earlier. What I was thinking is that they need to film all their videos in the summer.

I suppose there are people out there who don’t know they don’t have to buy a special dry fire pistol and these people are their customers.

When working with a student it is a very fast way to see and or correct trigger slap and trigger control issues. Also it has the same pull and reset of a Glock. Some of the best instructors across the country use the sirt to help students improve overall handgun skills.

I really believe in dry firing, not because I don’t have ammo but because if you do it correctly it will improve your shooting. A good reference book with lots of dry fire drills is “Refinement and Repition” by Steve Anderson.

My point is the pistol you have is the best one to use for dry fire. No reason to buy something else just to dry fire with. If it breaks your pistol fix it or get something that doesn’t break easy. If you don’t feel you can dry fire safely with a real gun, well then that’s another problem.

  4. I honestly don’t know why they don’t recommend airsoft pistols in this instance…

We do all the time, its a very good option.

  5. I wouldn’t use their “school” or “Buck Yeager” or Sonny Puziwhatthefuck.

Just because someone was in the service, doesn’t mean they are “operators, operating operationally”..it means they were in the service. This guy looks like a “mall ninja” and a Costa wannabe.
For $75, I could become a certified RSO at a local gun club 2 towns over.

I’d rather put the money that I would save by not attending one of those “schools” and put it towards more ammo and build my own “shoot house” in the shooting pit, in my field.

    1. Yawn

    2. So you are judging him based on what he looks like, instead of how he instructs. Got it.

  6. OH No ! Wait ! They are putting their finger on the trigger without intending to shoot something. That’s horrible horrible trigger discipline. That video should be taken down………. said all trigger safety nazis/noobs on the net

  7. This guy is a joke, no combat experience and holds an instructor qual that anyone can get. The only reason these two get attention is because of the gimmick they run, having is lady who can barely read a script and has the on camera personality of a boring news anchor flaunt herself and show some skin, very lame. Don’t waste your time taking any of their classes.

    1. Perhaps “Keyboard Warrior” would be more accurate than merely “Warrior.”

  8. I was one of their biggest initial critics, but the small portion of their video looked good. I’ll be back to take a second look later.

  9. Could this guy be any more of a wannabe? And this chick is what gets me…she’s about as entertaining as a rock. If I never hear about them again it would be awesome.

    1. There is a pretty easy way to avoid things you don’t like on the galactic interwebz Tom; don’t click.

Of course, some people secretly love to watch things they disagree with, so that they can play the critic for a quick ego boost, or catharsis via derision. Some people.

I like the fact that Erika was covered up. It’s easier to focus when them hams aren’t cutting off blood flow to my rational regions.

    2. Nothing is stopping you from Mr. Vickers’s high-production videos. Ex-Delta is hardly a wannabe either so you’d have that covered as well going that route.

      1. This guy was not a Delta, I think he was in the reserves for a few years that’s it.

        1. The Delta part was related to my suggestion that Tom limit his views to Vickers.

Cory looks a lot like Kirk Cameron.
