So… requiring background checks cuts TOTAL suicide rates in half? In 2009 51% of all suicides were committed with a firearm. So apparently if the government knows you have a gun there is no way you can possibly, mathematically, kill yourself with it. I think SOMEONE is pulling statistics out of their ass to make the people think background checks are a good idea, and using fake/altered/misrepresented suicide statistics is MESSED UP.
“Gun show loophole”. Again, when I buy a firearm on the internet, it is shipped to an FFL dealer, who makes me sit there for 5 minutes to complete a background check.
