Barrett .50 Off Hand 1000 Yards Like A Sir

Ryan Cleckner former Army range / sniper team leader:

hahah wow.  1 shot, 9 witnesses, and video footage to prove it.

That’s how you give your students confidence in your ability as an instructor.  I think Colby pooped his pants a little with excitement at the end of the video.

Texas-Triggers-LogoAnyone ever pull of a nice shot like that with a .50?

I would be willing to bet money I let him shot my .50 caliber Flint Lock Muzzle loader and set the same target up at 100 yards he wouldn’t be able to hit it.

      I don’t see how that’s relevant.

    2. I would be willing to bet money if they let you shoot their Barrett off-hand at the same target up at 1000 yards you wouldn’t be able to hit it.

I agree. A flintlock is a pretty crappy weapon. Especially when compared to a modern marvel such as the Barrett or the Hi-point.

I would be willing to bet money he’d take your .50 caliber Flint Lock Muzzleloader and would shove it up your ass and wouldn’t even have the common courtesy to file-down the sights for a smooth insertion.

Just another example of people saying shit on the internet that they wouldn’t be stupid and/or rude enough to say in person. If you had been standing there when that happened, I’m pretty certain you would have thought it pretty cool, and wouldn’t have said, “Oh yeah? Well I bet you can’t do thus and such.” Not because you were afraid of the big bad operator, but just because most people aren’t that rude face to face.

That’s just ridiculous. I’m not sure I could make that shot prone with zero wind. I know I couldn’t hold that gun up and steady like that. I need to go to the gym.

Why does everyone feel the need to put Thunderstruck in their video?

I know I’d dig hearing Perry Como in a shooting video some time. “Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket…” word. Also, this is fake. jk

The trick there was just holding it steady. They’d been shooting at that target all day, the sights were dead on. Just hold it long enough to settle the crosshairs, let out your breath, and squeeze. From a prone position, once it’s dialed in, anyone could get behind it and make 1000 yard shots all day. The wind isn’t that much of an issue at that range with a .50. It would take a good push to knock that round off target.

      Assuming the wind isn’t shifting.

with a scope, meh. Call me when he can do it with irons.

    1. Ha ha !
Just out of curiosity, how far you think it’s possible to shoot using only irons?

I’d like to see how many times out of ten he could replicate that shot. Not saying it was luck, hitting 6ft in either direction of that target while standing would have been good shooting…but some luck may have been involved.
