Doomsday DERPer’s Gun Goes Off On Its Own And Shortens His Thumb

This video is apparently old, but that doesn’t make it any less hilarious:

0:45 – “It was one of those malfunctions, my thumb went in front of the barrel… and it went off” – LOL oh reeeeeeeealy? Just once I want someone to be like “Yea I’m a dumbass and I was dicking around, put my thumb in front of the barrel and pulled the trigger.”

Thumbs-And-Ammo-Big-LebowskiWell the prize for his stupidity is a short little thumb. *slow clap*

Thoughts?

The other gem from that season of Derpsday Preppers was two buddies were in a blind practicing shooting, one of them had a muzzle brake on that popped the ear drum of his buddy that didn’t have enough Earpro for shooting.

SittingDown September 12, 2013 at 02:05 am

And he starts crying “I can’t hear…waahhh”

Gizmo September 12, 2013 at 02:41 am

You’re not my prepper friend anymore!

SittingDown September 12, 2013 at 04:19 am

LOL.

ROFL, that video was hilarious. Their “blind” is a steel box, of course it was really loud. Get some better earpro!

What a couple of morons.

elephantrider September 12, 2013 at 05:12 pm

You mean better than just cupping your hand over one of your ears while your buddy has his muzzle in the same plane as your head?

I suspect the whole thing was a production issue. He probably had it off so that the show producers and camera person could communicate with him. He realized that he had it off right before his buddy was going to fire, but didn’t want to mess up the footage by calling a timeout. Granted the idiot thing to do is to quickly cover your ear with your hand. He got to learn just how load rifles are in an enclosed space.

Phil September 12, 2013 at 02:30 pm

Goddamn that hilarious. Mr tacticool prepper just threw whatever on his rifle without thinking of how it would change the dynamics of it. This is why some of those muzzle brakes are a joke. Some guy was shooting with one at the range it it annoyed the hell out of everyone to his left and right. More training will serve you better than any muzzle brake will.

elephantrider September 12, 2013 at 05:15 pm

Despite what the narration said, I don’t think he even had a brake on that Sig rifle. It just looked like a flash hider. Regardless, 5.56mm is LOUD in an enclosed space like that. And, yes most brakes are annoying loudeners that should be reserved for only the most heavy recoiling rounds.

“It looks the same..” -Tim

Keep telling yourself that, Tim.

rjackparis September 12, 2013 at 03:17 am

he wasn’t prepared for that one apparently.

Seb September 12, 2013 at 04:43 am

My grandfather watched this clip when he walked to school up hill both ways as a child. :-P But yes the derp is strong with this one.

And the blind incident…I wanted to smack the shit out of that superpuss. The guy was crying and rolling around and I think he even threw up. No permanent damage IIRC…so it was all a big ‘ole superpuss freakout of his own doing. He had hearing protection, covered his ear closest to the muzzle, and knew a shot was about to be let go. Matter of fact, I don’t even think the guy had a compensator or brake that would have redirected the gases…rather he just had a flash hider. Then he started in on his buddy telling him he fucked up he had to go and blah blah blah. Holy shit I would have been angry and laughed right in the guys face…probably insulted his mother too LOL. What a sally-britches chaunce. Bare in mind this is the chaunce that just before that sceen was talking about how fucking high-speed low-drag he was. xD

But yeah…don’t blow your thumb off. It’s stupid.

mos2111 September 12, 2013 at 05:09 am

Malfunction? Just because you call your own negligence a malfunction doesn’t make it anyone or anythings fault but your own. 4 rules…
dipshit.

elephantrider September 13, 2013 at 10:50 am

I think he means the “malfunction” in his brain.

SteelerFan September 12, 2013 at 05:36 am

This guy is confusing the word “malfunction” with the word “fire”. He’s obviously a liberal because he blamed the gun for his own stupidity instead of his mental illness.

dryfiredrills September 12, 2013 at 05:51 am

Two thumbs up for that one… well one and a half.

I hate reality shows, they are so fake

Ross September 12, 2013 at 03:14 pm

Tex Graebner is the only one I know of that shot himself and didn’t say the gun “just went off”

If idiots like this owned up to their mistakes there’d be a lot less news stories about guns “just going off” and the non-gun folks would have less reasons to think a chunk of steel is trying to kill them.

7350 September 12, 2013 at 04:00 pm

Hard to tell from that short clip, but it looks like he might have been using a revolver. I bet he put his left thumb in front of the cylinder.

Regulus September 12, 2013 at 07:29 pm

so hapy that happened to this stupid fuckin dumb actor POS

Therealcombatwombat September 13, 2013 at 12:03 am

This douche is on the cover of American Survival Guide. They mention the Doomsday Preppers episode in the very large, and flattering article about. I wonder if anybody at the magazine actually watched the episode, because not a word is said about him shooting himself in the thumb. I also wonder how much he paid them for advertising. He is a former photographer and fashion model.
